Only if they are of importance to me. When Michael Jackson died I was 'meh' but if Damon Albarn dies I'll be very sad and probably cry.

If I was a fan I care. I'm a big hockey fan and I get upset when one of my favorite teams TRADE a player that I like. Also I was very disheartened when George Carlin passed away.

Aww man, how did I forget about Carlin? Still my favourite comedian of all time. If it weren't for Louis CK, comedy would be screwed.

If I respected the person or their work, then I would feel sad. I don't really care too deeply for the vast majority of celebrities but there are some people I do admire. I will feel sad when David Attenborough dies because I respect his work both as a presenter and a naturalist.

If I liked them and their work (like Peter Falk) I'll think to myself, "damn, that blows" then move on with my life. If I don't care, I don't care.

However, if, say, Dick Van Dyke died, I would have to mourn for a few days. B ecause he is awesome.

Often the sole reasoning for making us care is solely "We say so." So with good reason yes I do care when people I like if there are actual reasons.

I'm sad if anyone dies, but it hits harder if I was a fan.

I sobbed when George Carlin died.

Depends on what they were famous for. Musician and actors? Not a big loss, boo-fething-hoo. Jester's who never really achieved anything of importance.

When people like... Carl Sagan die, that stings as that means the world just became a worse place to live on.

Depends on who it is

If its a celebrity I dont care about then I wont be sad as I dont care about them unless they died in exceptionally painfull circumstances

If it is a celebrity I do care about I would be sad

For eample: When Freddy Mercury the lead singer of queen was annoujnced as dead I was very sad as he is a magnificent muscion

If however tiger woods died I wouldnt care as I dont like golf. Why should I care for a random celeb over all the other millions that are dieing?
