Well there has clearly been the recent thread about the console war (http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/9.166162?page=1) but i wan't to focus on a larger aspect.

Why do people care so much about their issues.

Can consoles not be enjoyable for some and PC for others?
Can exclusive games be a bravo for the parent company?
Can Halo not just be another shooter you like or dislike?
Can opinion be personal and not viewed as fact?
Can games be bad for me but great for you?
Can we not all just get along?

My question is:
Do you think the venomous gaming community can ever just leave everyone to their own devices?

I know this could escalate to horror, so please guys, keep it clean.

Nope.

There will always be people that don't understand why others like different things from them, and it will piss them off when those things are called superior.

I for one, don't care.

People like to argue.

With argument comes the possibility of winning.
People also like to win at stuff.

Sadly I don't think the gaming community can leave people to their own devises. Simple reason: People enjoy forcing their likes down others' throats.

Everything you mentioned should just be common sense.

But this IS the internet, people are quick to forget basic things like that.

People need to defend their decisions.... people are also afraid to admit that their wrong... this is human nature and will never change.

Nope and frankly I don't care.
As long as they don't attack me personally over my choice, that is.

I just like arguing with people. I'm currently on a one-man war against laptops, and I think that might to some part just be me trying to be special. So no. I dont think people will ever just let people be happy. We love bickering and being smartasses too much.

In an ideal world yes, in this world no, if we could learn to ignore the trolls and fan boys we'd all be happier but they're just so much fun to bait :D ah well I'm happy with my console and if people don't like it it just means they're spending more time complaining about said console rather than playing theirs.

I never really understood that, I mean, look at The Escapist. Plenty of people who will do the complete opposite of human nature?

Bugger, i have a laptop.

I'm surprised at how nice people are on here. There have been some pretty bitter people on here as of late.
Thanks

Halo is the symbol of everything that is wrong with shooters.

It's too short, too easy, and everything has a fuckton of REGENERATING HEALTH.

I am more than happy with my very wonderful 360. I named him Bruce.
He has an Arkam Asylum sticker on him. He hasn't had, nor will he ever have, the RROD.

So frankly, I don't give a shit about how pretty Dragon Age is on PC.

No matter how many people claim computer is better, I love my 360 more than I ever loved my PC.

(But, in all fairness, PC DOES have better games. I enjoyed Black and White, Diablo, and Company of Heroes immensity.)

THERE CAN BE ONLY ONE!!!

Some people just don't like other people having opinions oposite to theirs, despite what they may also say about freedom of speach.

People here are actaully really good about letting people have their own opinions with respect.

I own the 360 because it has more games that I enjoy. I also own a wii whish is only good for collecting dust becuase my wife wanted one. I woudl like to won a ps3 for some of their exclusives but I just can't spend the money right now.

Evidently no. Personally, I don't care. I've never seen the merits of limiting oneself to strictly one gaming platform, the only reason I could think to do that would be poverty and that's hardly a reason to go condemning all the other platforms.

I trust you've never played Halo on Legendary?

And no, I really don't care about the console wars. Anyone with half a brain knows that people have differing tastes and needs.
