Rarely. I'll have some alcoholic stuff at christmas or New Year's, but even then I'll have hardly any. I'm not too fond of the taste to be honest.

Ayup.
The most I drank was a few beers, some spirit and half a bottle of Vodka. Didn't get drunk, just a little fuzzy. But we (was in a camp with class) had some epic fun afterwards, so it cannot be bad :)

I find that offensive. Most people in Scotland are merely weekend alcoholics =P.

I drink rarely, and never on my own. There are cheaper things that I enjoy more. I will have a pint or 2 if I am at a pub to keep my friends from thinking that I am not enjoying myself (no one seems to buy the "it tastes like shit" reason for not liking alcohol here) but apart from that I never drink.

Being Irish, I get a hell of a lot of pressure to drink. While I've no interest in getting drunk myself I don't really mind who is drunk around me. I'm nearly 23 now and think I've done a good job of saying no because I'm just not interested. I personally think I'm enjoyable and fun enough not to need drink. Doesn't stop people topping up my 7up with vodka though hahaha.

I drink straight whiskey, my being of Irish ancestry.

Makers whiskey is my general go to, it's a Kentucky bourbon, doesn't burn your tong, mouth, or throat, but leaves a bad after taste. A chaser can be used but I'd avoid mixing.

I'll have a shot or two after a really long or hard day, and I'll polish off an entire bottle over the course of a night if I'm partying, I'm a heavy-weight drinker, but I don't party often.

The idea of alcohol is that it relaxes people, the trick is to find a drink you like and only drink enough to get a buzz. If you start feeling sick, STOP DRINKING. I hate people that end up throwing up then go back to drinking. It's great to have 1-2 drinks at a social event just because the liquid 'courage' can help you approach people, it calms nerves.

I look at it this way, asking out the hot girl at the party is a Stupid move, and so is everything else that jumps into your head under the influence, but the girl might like you and if the drink got you to go talk to her then it's a good thing, in moderation.

I'm not an alcoholic I just drink constantly
You aren't a alcoholic.

Alcoholics go to meetings :D

OT: I do sometimes but I prefer some of the more tame legal highs.

Let's see. I'm in college, that answer it?
Just kidding. Though honestly I was still drunk at 1pm last Sunday, so I think I fall under the category of a frequent drinker. Honestly, alcohol is neither bad nor good (though most things do kind of taste like the underside of a bathroom), it's something to enjoy with friends in a positive way. It turns into a shared experience that I feel everyone should try at least once in excess (not horrible death excess, just say, get tipsy).

Also, I'm not sure how you could compare soda with alcohol in this case. They're not that similar.

I used to be a whiskey guy. But now Gin is my drink of choice. Gin with a tiny bit of dry vermouth, stirred in ice, is fantastic. Tonic, though, is a gin's best friend.

Alas, I try to limit my alcohol, both in amount and frequency of use. My father, as well as many other members of my family past and present, are alcoholics. As such, I drink little and not often.

My real vice is coffee.

Yes, I do, but with a few stipulations:

1. hard liquor only (vodka etc)
2. no light beer (if you can see your hand on the other side of the glass, it's not a beer!)
3. Mixed drinks chilled only.
4. Martinis shaken only.
5. Vodka preferably.

there are more, but wine is a bit complicated and well, I'm not that big a fan of whiskey or other browns that much. (though a nice glass of crown every so often can be quite nice . . .)

and remember kids! Life is too short for cheap liquor! you can take THAT to the bank!

[sub]thank you and good night[/sub]

I am, or was, unhealthily obsessed with it (that is: The drug itself and not the consumption of it). Though I don't really drink.

At first I was terrified of it. After I tried it I'm not afraid any more, but I'm still quite annoyed at those who promote it as the all-wonderful drug to have fun. They're about as annoying as I would expect those who obsessively promote abstinence are to those on the opposite side of the spectrum.

I can understand why people would enjoy a drink. But personally I find it to interfere with my normal already trippy state of mind, so I don't find it much rewarding. For the relaxing part, I have tea (isn't as potent a relaxant, but it has a few other nice effects that I like). And as for the social lubricant part of it, I tend to stay away from that kind of medication as much as possible, because I prefer to deal with things with own ability.

By default I won't drink at any occasion, but I don't hold this as an absolute rule. I would like to at least try to drink on a social occasion, just so my opinion on it is based on experience and not on delusional judgement. I hate to say that I actually quite like the taste of it though.

I'm quite interested in touching a few other kinds of drugs though, within reason.

I'm 16 and I like drinking. I do it rarely and I've only gotten really drunk once but it's fun.
If it tastes good and feels good, then why not?
not smoking though....never smoking.

Being a student always helps. But £1 drinks are lethal. When I got to uni I pretty much became a bottle of Vodka.

Nope.

I've had a sip of scotch and it was shite.

Not my thing. To each their own.
I drink regularily and absolutely can't stand the taste of scotch. Just sayin'.
Scotch is the shit, dudes.. It's like jazz, you gotta force yourself to like it, and when you do... Whooaaaahh
Hell no, the smell alone make me sick. I used to drink it without a care, until a certain, all-too-close encounter with Mister Daniels destroyed that for me.

Don't mind jazz though.

... you silly, silly but yet practical niggah :{D

Oh, no, no no. I was just saying that's the only time I've had any alcohol. Might try scotch with coke. I hear that's nice.

Oh, I had a glass of wine once. Was 'meh'.
I know, I justed wanted to add that it's very possible to like alcohol and despise scotch : )
