Nope.

I've had a sip of scotch and it was shite.

Not my thing. To each their own.
I drink regularily and absolutely can't stand the taste of scotch. Just sayin'.
Scotch is the shit, dudes.. It's like jazz, you gotta force yourself to like it, and when you do... Whooaaaahh
Hell no, the smell alone make me sick. I used to drink it without a care, until a certain, all-too-close encounter with Mister Daniels destroyed that for me.

Don't mind jazz though.

... you silly, silly but yet practical niggah :{D
Then I am quite sorry to inform you that ol' Jackieboy is not scotch, but bourbon :{D

... you silly, silly but yet bearded caucasian

It's not bourbon either. Bourbon can only be made in Kentucky. JD is whiskey, sipping whiskey if you want to label it properly.
Lol Thirsk, we suck. :{D

i love to drink. even nowheresville where i live becomes a fun n interesting place after sufficient amounts of alcohol and it makes certain relatives n friends easier to put up with.
though i suppose the only good reasons i have are that i like the taste and the buzz.

not quite learned my limits yet though ... waking up to find you blacked out the night before n tried to get into your neighbours house naked is probably something i should try to avoid in future.....meh

I don't drink. I'm 21 and have no intention of ever picking it up. I'll stick with soda, milk, water, juice and maybe coffee if I'm desperate for something to drink/warm me up.

Holy spoon, this thread is to 16 pages and a truckload of votes and I'm only the 2nd (!!!) person to have quit drinking?

Either there's a MAJOR demographic anomaly here are we've got a whole lot of people that either lie or refrain from voting to avoid having to lie.

EDIT: I'm 28 and would have died a couple years ago had I not quit. A combination of alcohol and pills was very close to killing me and I'm damn proud of having survived and surfaced on the other side. Most other reformed alcoholics I know share the same pride, and rightfully so, so I'm really confused why so few would admit to have quit in a poll. Is this really just a completely surreal demographic anomaly?

EDIT2: Just to make it perfectly clear. I have NOTHING against people that drink. I even enjoy being in their company while they do it. If a person can handle it them all the more power to them. I learned the hardest way possible that I can't but that does not give me the right to judge anyone else. Even if someone is so far gone that he's about to kick it, like I was, that is his choice. You can not teach people what to think and you can not help someone that does not want your help and trying either of those makes you a lot more arrogant and narrow-sighted than the person you're feeling superior to.

I hate those who judge something without trying it.

You have to get drunk atleast once before you condemn it. I'd suggest 2-3 times because it's rearely the same.
That's stupid logic.

"You can't condem swiming with a shark while covered in fish guts, until you try it."

"You can't condem staring at the sun for 5 minutes until you try it."

"You can't condem drinking and driving 'til you've done it once or twice"

"You can't condem assualting a Swat Team until you've done it"

"You can't condem Stephanie Maeyer's writing until you've read all the Twilight books"

"You can't condem being raped until you've been raped" and so on.

I rarely do, I would more, but the prices in canada are outrageous. Plus I kind of have a fatty liver so I try to avoid it.

One important thing is not to overdo it. If you drink half a liter of vodka, make sure you can handle that amount of alcohol (thank god for my genetics, I can outdrink almost all nationalities). But drinking with good friends is a very fun way to relax and pass time. Also it helps some people to socialize, if you are really shy it helps. I know some people who when drunk, become the life of the party. Anyways, i drink about 0,5 liter of vodka or similar alcohol per week on average (40% or 50%). Some weeks i go sober and some weeks i spend in a cycle.

Reading through these posts made me feel like having a drink so... xD yes, I do drink. However, I didn't until a couple weeks before I turned 21. I don't really think you should even worry about not wanting drink at such a young age anyway. I got along just fine without it. :3

Though I've recently adapted a new way of living -- I feel like I need to try everything at least once before I can judge it. I feel like that way I can get the most out of life and different experiences. It sure as hell has helped me do a lot of growing.

Anything done excessively is bad for you though. But if you are worried about becoming addicted then you probably shouldn't ever drink too much. I tried a wine cooler or two when I was 16 or so, and since it didn't give me a buzz or anything I didn't find it much different than soda. However, once I learned the feeling of being buzzed and drunk I really got hooked on that feeling -- and that's what's gotten me in trouble.

So just be careful. I don't think it's a bad idea to keep an open mind and try it when you turn 21-- but you are right -- you don't want to drink in excess. Of course, what do I know. To be frank, I find drinking to be a lot of fun. >u> Erk, but you probably shouldn't take my word for it. Go based on your gut feeling and what you feel is right. <3

Curious as to what your nationality is.

Even though I just started drinking and I'm a relatively thin/average sized female, I still can handle a shit ton of alcohol without getting sick. Which makes me wonder if it really is genetic...

Hey, hey, break out the mint Baileys on the rocks :D

Favourite drink. If you don't drink for a good reason and get smashed, you are SERIOUSLY missing out!
... There is such thing as mint Bailey's? O_O Who are you and where have you been all my life. Do tell me where I can pick up such a thing. I was looking for a holiday drink and that sounds like a winner!!!

My beverage of choice is beer, but I live in a place where good beer is hard (impossible) to find, so I don't drink as much as I used to.

Im Estonian. By average we drink the second amount of alcohol in Europe. Only the Czech are beating us. For now... Generally white, East-Europeans should have the best tolerance, but then it already is about your personal heritage. I have every drinking contests with Russians i have had but that does not mean I am a better drinker than all Russians, just the ones i have been drinking with.

Nothin' beats a bit of whiskey on a cold day. Except maybe 1 bourbon, 1 scotch, and 1 beer in quick succession.

For now? xD; I wonder where you find statistics like that. (And who the hell had time to come up with them?)

But that makes sense then considering I'm mostly German and Italian.

Maybe a few times a year, and even then not much quantity-wise. I don't like being tipsy/drunk, and I don't like being around drunk people. Not fun at all.
