Hey guys; since it's fairly easy on this forum to go back and change your posts, how often do you do it? Personally, I review my post after posting (even though doing it before posting would make way more sense) and change grammar & spelling mistakes all the time here. I also add things I failed to mention by adding the "EDIT" disclaimer.

What about you guys? Do you ever find mistakes in your post? If you do, do you edit it, or just let it be?

EDIT: The poll didn't seem to show up. Also, metaedit.

EDIT: Nevermind, I can see the poll now. Also, double-meta-edit.

EDIT: Oh wait, discussion value. Basically, I'm trying to gouge how much you care about the content you put on this forum by how much you edit. Are your posts something you throw carelessly out into the internet, or do you meticulously present yourself to the best of your ability? Also, why? (you know, because asking why adds discussion value. I'm pretty good at this!)

I usually edit my posts at least two times, often three. Up to six for anything more than two paragraphs.
Well, except for the three-lines or so worth posts. They may go unedited. But I rarely make them.

Usually. I sometimes reread my posts after I post them and realize I'd forgotten a word in a sentence, so I'll just quickly edit it and leave.

Sometimes I change stuff so mods won't get pissy about it, but that's not the main focus of the thread.

Quite often. The keyboard I use often doesn't register every key I hit, so I go back through and fix something if I notice it.

If I notice the mistake, or think of something I want to add after, then I'll edit the post. I'm sure there are mistakes that have gone uncorrected though.

I almost never make spelling mistakes, but I'll often go back and restructure a paragraph, or add in a little something something that I've thought of after clicking the button.

I try to read over my posts before submitting them so that I don't make any spelling or grammatical mistakes, but if I miss any and notice them later I'll go back and correct them. Also, if I think of any extra relevant information that would add something to the original post I'll add that in too, or correct a specific wording to make it more clear if it was previously somewhat ambiguous.

Yes. Discussion value? Uhm how about are you a grammar Nazi!
On my own topic: It depends. Sometimes I'll be a huge ass like with your and you're but something that I get yelled at for is I hate to capitalize my I's and use apostrophes. It honestly slows me down SO MUCH. It is the most frustrating thing in the world yet I force myself to do it every time. I need to learn to hit the ' with my pinkie instead of stopping to use my index finger. I'm a 80% touch typer. I move my hand too much.

Absolutely. If I see a spelling error it gets corrected. If I miss any relevant information I use the *EDIT* prefix. Usually I read it before posting, though, so a lot of the time it gets caught before the button's pressed.

I don't think you have to get the captcha 100% correct; it just has to be close. I don't get them here since I'm a member of the PubClub, but I'm sure I've mistyped while entering them on other sites before and still had them accept my post.

I proofread every post I make, usually several times, then I proofread it again after posting, and fix any mistakes I find.
