I think I fall into option 5.

If a goal ahead of me is achievable equally via timesinking or glitching (and providing the route has been exhausted of fun), I'll glitch to be able to reap the rewards.

It depends what I'm doing.
If the glitch is fun, and in single player, then sure. If not, then no.

I don't in order to win. I sometimes play around with glitches for fun, but never in order to cheat. A victory that you do not earn is not a victory.

Basically no, but if it' single player than why not? You might want to make this poll for multiplayer.

Never in any type of multi-player, except co-op and in single player.

For fun when i'm just screwin around (I.E. single player, me and me bro vs bots offline, etc.)

But I will not glitch in multiplayer, not against human players anyways.

Sometimes...like the paintbrush glitch in Oblivion. I only glitch when it doesn't give me an unfair advantage...and never in MP

The people getting out of/under the map in CoD4 multiplayer should be burned alive. There is no excuse for it, other than you are a douche bag with no sense of honor or any skill whatsoever.

When I've aready beaten the game fair and square, I'll use glitches in single-player for shits and giggles. Never in multiplayer, though.

Singleplayer? Sure. I can't count the numerous times I've exploited idiotic AI to get past difficult situations whether that be luring enemies away one-by-one to cut them down or standing somewhere they can reach me and destroying them from afar.

I don't *like* to do it, but if I've gotta to beat the game, then so be it.

Multiplayer though? No, never. It irritates me too much when I see other people doing it and I've no urge to do it to others, I'd rather just find a server where I can play the game the way it's meant to be played.

If it's single player and I've already beaten the game, yeah, I will. If it's multiplayer, unless I'm with friends and it'll be funny, I don't.

Glitches are for people with no imagination.

That's my gaming philosophy.

These aren't mine. But they're probably the easiest to show what exactly a Tool Assisted Speedrun does to games with abusable glitches.

And a longer video, Viddler doesn't support embedding, but this one completes Mega Man 2(japanese version) in about 30 minutes [http://www.viddler.com/explore/adelikat/videos/535/]

Absolutely not. Not since the Pokemon days when Missingno wrecked my cartridge. It's made me more than a bit wary of using glitches ever again. Oh, and anyone who exploits glitches in a competitive multiplayer game can jump in front of a freight train.

Almost all developers agree that taking advantage of unintentional bugs is a form of cheating (at least in multiplayer), so yes. Halo has a good example where you could leave the map and reenter by walking through walls (you could also now permanently move through any solid object). You could attack without fear of retaliation since if you got overwhelmed you could just walk through the nearest solid object to escape. Also, no one expects to have to watch their backs for ghosts with guns who phase through the wall behind you and shoot you in the back of the head with a one hit kill sniper headshot.

I Didn't patch Oblivion untill I had an arsenal of weapons/potions/septims... That should tell you something...
