Kids, similarly to adults, are each individuals, so I try to give all of them a chance and let them show me how mature or immature they might be. When I was younger, particularly middle school age, I found myself surrounded by adults who all attempted to classify me with the children around me, whom I had little to nothing in common with. As the adult now, I try to give kids the benefit of the doubt.

So in short, I don't hate all children, just the ones that piss me off/get on my nerves/act like little bastards.

1-5 year olds annoy me a lot some times, but I never hate them. I reserve that for 12 year olds. I honestly can't stand them, I'd rather be near a crying baby than a kid who is (or acts like) a preteen. They're just intolerable. I know I was one, but I was never that annoying. If I acted like that I would annoy myself to death.

I hate them when they are young... so damn annoying and the nappy change? wtf, anyway, they can get better over time, and can be taught how to game like a pro

14-16 year olds tend to get on my nerves the most. It's the age where they do and very well should know better, but don't give two shits. They think they know twice as much about everything as anyone else around them, somehow all the while forgetting that they'd be pretty screwed if mommy and daddy weren't around to provide everything they have for them.

I'm a fairly introverted person, and I'm always particularly worried that I might screw up when dealing with kids, but I don't hate them any more than adults. They're just a little higher stress. I generally prefer dealing with human beings I can reason with -- not something little kids are famous for -- but children can be very sweet and likable anyways. The worst thing is how exhausting they are; any time I do childcare I'm about ready to pass out when I get done!

Tweens and teens can be much more obnoxious, but I consider it a sign of my increasing maturity that I'm now more likely to roll my eyes at them and sigh like a tired mother than actually "hate" them. :p

Nothing wrong with kids to me - they're immature sure and often stupid, but so were we all once, they've got to learn somehow and they won't get better if I'm angry at them and ignoring/yelling at them.

I don't necessarily hate children, I mostly just hate the people who refuse to properly look after them. If I'm in a public place and it isn't say, a toy store (you know a place built for children), I do not want to spend my time listening to someone else's little hell spawn scream their head off.

I hate children in public places. Virtually every time I take the bus/subway, go to the grocery store or eat in a restaurant, a fucking baby shits itself, a six year old throws a tantrum for no apparent reason and/or parents ignore their kid's cries even though it annoys everyone else.

But in private, kids are generally alright. Hell, I took care of ten kids for three summers when I was a teenager and I really liked them.

I only like kids when they're young enough that, if they're being troublesome and misbehaving, I can use my superior size to physically put the kibosh on their shenanigans, because regardless of how much firm command I speak with, they don't respect my authority (perhaps trying to deal with them the way I deal with dogs is part of the problem?). When they're big enough that they can still get up to shit dangling three feet off the ground I tend to lose interest.

I guess it's not that I dislike kids specifically so much as I find it discouraging that I'm going to all this trouble to talk to them on their own level AND assume that "their own level" is a fairly intelligent one, and then they figure since I'm treating them with a little respect, which is unusual enough for a grown-up, they don't have to return the favor.

Kids are fine while they're still young and cute. By the age of twelve or so they seem to have this annoying tendency to turn into little scrotes all full of attitude. Not all children do this, of course, but enough to make it fairly common. Then they don't become reasonable human beings again til they're about 25 or so.
Pretty much this, I love little kids although teens are a mixed bag depending on personality, some of them are alright but many aren't.

Also, as said before this thread is a magnet to jaded misantrophes, so to any normal people, beware!

I don?t hate them but then I don?t have to deal with them so there?s little for me to be even annoyed at. Well unless they are being annoying in public somewhere and I have to witness it, although even then I mostly find it funny unless they are being destructive or something like that.

I don?t like children either; I just don?t want much to do with them I suppose.

One of the most harsh generalizations would be to say 'I hate all children.'

I dislike a good part of my fellow school-peers, as far as it goes.

I really don't like them, but the notion of hatred is ridiculous.

I have managed to get to the age of 37 without ever having even held a baby. And I have zero maternal instinct. They simply don't interest me in the slightest and I tune most of them off my personal radar.

sure, they're cute, but most are total arses when they learn to talk. some last a bit longer.

I prefer cats and dogs. sure they're just as dumb and immature as kids, but dogs worship the ground you walk on, and cats at least stay out of the way.

I don`t hate children, but sometimes i have to take care of my 3yo cousin and she won`t stay still for a minute, she gets her sticky fingers on everything and manages to push every button in sight or take anything thats not attached to something and if you don`t let her she starts crying, but seconds later shes fine after she got what she wanted. Sure they are cute, but mostly when they are someone elses problem.
