Poll: Do you hate the internet community?

There have been a few threads up lately that have to do with personal run in with mean spirited people, hackers, and just general bigotry on the internet. So, I thought I just ask if anyone has come to the conclusion (based on their own personal experiences or experiences of their friends) that they just hate the community of the internet.

Me? I came to this conclusion probably 5 min's (exaggeration) into starting forums. The internet is just full of biased and bigoted people. I know there are a lot of good people (a lot of which are on this site), but the bad, to me, far overlaps the good. It's probably the lack of consequences that does it, which makes me lose hope in humanity knowing that that's all there is keeping people from saying the things they do.

I hate certain parts of the internet but personally I think the internet community is exciting because of the people that you get to meet that you wouldn't be able to do without it. If you are having problems about hackers and other stuff do not go onto those sites that you know have it there is a lot of websites out there that you can visit

I wouldn't say 'hate' as such... that's a bit strong of an emotin to have towards a lot of people I haven't met... but I would say there are many times where I read comments and opinions that I find dissapointing and/or disturbing on the internet... and leaves me hoping that people don't really think like that! :/

Nah, I dislike most people most of the time in general and some peoples opinions offend me with their lack of insight, but there are still some cool people around.

I don't see why I would hate the Internet community. There are of course loads of idiots, but that's what makes everything so damn entertaining. If we didn't freak out at the slightest provocation, go way overboard in our reactions and spend most of our time trying to troll others, what would the point be of the Internet? It's so we can do things that would have consequences IRL. People are just as stupid there; we just can't point it out to them so eloquently.

As a whole, yes. Absolutely. However that's not to say all of the internet is bad. I generally avoid the bad parts of the internet so I don't really experience it, only in small doses, but in general I think the internet is populated by trolls and 11 year olds who pretend they're 18 and try to be snarky.

You know, honestly no.

There are billions of people using this series of tubes, all with their own agenda. Yes, certain people say stupid things, certain people say awesome things, there's this group of people, that group of people, these words, those actions, trolling, memes, fandoms, etc, etc, but I honestly can't say I hate them. Why?

Because I don't know any of them, what they do has little actual effect on this world, and I have these handy dandy little arrow buttons in the upper left corner of my screen.

No, I have this weird tendency. Its freaky I know, but I just can't get the hang of blaming everyone in a group for the actions of a few people in that group.

If you hate people on the internet then you're not looking in the right places. There are some genuinely intelligent people out there if you're into intellectual discussion, or if you like humour, games, or pretty much any hobby you can think of.

The internet is freaking awesome and my favourite place to be, sure people are dicks but if you care about what a weird anonymous dick says over a screen then that's really your fault.

Hate would involve taking action against people on the internet, so no. I do feel a strong urge to ignore a good number of people on the internet, though.
