Haven't really noticed many threads about post count. Quite a few posts in threads about post count along the lines of 'Blah blah blah.' EDIT: XXXXXX Posts!'

Either way they don't really bother me as I don't notice them anyway.

I think the post celebration threads are excellent reasons to do something creative that doesn't have to do with post counts and still get away with it.

I love creative post celebrations.

I don't mind, not like I have to read them or anything. Every time I reach a mil stone I do a "Your Rant thread" the last one was ruined though but some miserable sod who likes ruining other peoples fun.

No, if someone gets a kick out of it go ahead, you deserve you're own thread If you reach like 5000, I mean you've basically been feeding ad views at that point.

Only 1000, 5000 and 10,000 seems necessary. Let them have their fun. I don't hate it, I just say "Good for You!" in the actual nice sense that phrase is supposed to be...

I know, you were at 20000 or some number like that? But it inspired people! [sub] but they started at much lower numbers[/sub]
10,000, actually. I didn't do anything for 20 and 30, I don't think. I probably won't do anything for 40 either.

I think 1000 posts is okay. 100 posts is a bit low, considering how fast this forum moves.
Yeah. Hundred posts is more of a small mention in the post that is your 100th post.

If someone makes a topic about it (haven't seen that, but I don't browse more than the hot topics/latest posts very often, I must confess), I get a bit upset because it's pointless. If someone makes a post completely dedicated to it, ditto. But as is usually the case, I don't give half a whoop if someone says "oh hey, X posts. Cool."

I'm not bothered as long as the thread has some substance.
I usually just say in a post, 'oh look, 1,000 posts. Fancy that.'

I don't hate it per se, but it's nothing amazing and really thread-worthy in my book. It's just ego-stroking IMO.

Oh, look, the OP has 1k posts. Fancy that his 1k post is this thread about anti X post threads.

As for me, I dislike anyone who shows off their number. It's meaningless compared to how it was. In the past few weeks I've gained 500 posts from a few usergroups, when it took me two years to get 500 regular posts. When posts meant a bit a few years back where the title "Gone Gonzo" for 1k posts was rather rare. That's why there's no title over Gone Gozo, since they have no reason to back then since it was really rare.

I hope the User Groups would quit counting towards post counts, it just seems wrong to me.

I think it's alright if they make a regular thread and then add in a little "Yay x posts".

No, I find them a good opportunity to do a retrospective or special review. I'm all for members having their special occasions.

I hate when there isn't any discussion. Some users are clever and/or witty with their "Xth Post!" thread, and those can be cool. Also, I don't mind when people tag the number of the post at the end of a post.

I don't see the harm in it. I mean, to get to something like 1000 posts takes a lot of time and effort. Sure it clogs up the forums a little bit, but I think that you've earned it once you have that many posts.

They don't bug me I just don't click on them. Unless they are as cleverly disguised as yours. I say to you good show sir.
