One Compulsion I have for instance is to buy an orange, then every weekend I will go over to my sink, peel back the oranges skin and crush the flesh in my hands until it is mushy. Done this for 6 years and I MUST do this each weekend or I feel really out of place.

Do you have something unusual you absolutely must do without fail?

That is a bit unusual. But I have slight CDO. CDO is like OCD except the letters are in order.... AS THEY SHOULD BE.

Actually, it's surprising I don't have severe autism. As a child I was diagnosed with near asperger syndrome level autism, yet now I'm normal... or at least within everyday standards.

Every time I see a door with a lock, I go through the door, lock it, and unlock it. Don't know why. Of course, I don't do it in really obvious "Don't do that" places. Like, on an airplane.

I think this is very common, but I always check my watch when I'm out and about even though I may not want to know the time.

Funnily enough, my watch broke two weeks ago and I still glance at my wrist occasionally.

EDIT: I almost forgot - maybe not quite as common - but I always feel the need to turn off electrical appliances when they're not used, like a TV that nobody's watching. Hippy compulsions?

I've never been diagnosed, but I have a few OCD like tendencies. For one, a rather obsessive need for things to be symmetrical. For example, if I scratch an itch on one side of my body, I'll generally do the same thing on the other side, even if there's no itch.

I have to crack my knuckles every hour or so. Well, knuckles, neck, toes, elbow, jaw, probably other things I'm forgetting. I've been asked to hold back and doing so turns into an incredibly irritating experience.

Oh, and when nobody's able to do something and I get it in my head that I can I abso-fucking-lutely have to do it, will do it, and will be damn proud and damn humble at the end of it. I've fixed so much random crap because of this, found so much random crap because of it, and understood so much random crap because of it.

All switches that do not have somthing plugged into them MUST be switched off.
My keyboard has to be lined up exactly with the desk and MUST be equal distances from each edge.
And in RTS games my buildings MUST be lined up with each other perfectly.

It's highly situational with me. Somedays, I have to have something arranged a certain way, other days I don't really care.

Not got any major compulsions, but my curtains have to be aligned in a certain way and it feels wrong if they're not.

My TV's volume can only be on an 0 or a 5, and all doors within 20ft of me must NOT be left open, otherwise I can't focus until I close the door...

Two that I know of. When I go upstairs, I have to knock on the newllpost three times. And if something with volume has numbers, the volume has to be on an even number or a multiple of five.

What you are describing sounds a lot less like an Obsessive Compulsion, and a whole lot like an idiosyncrasy. They can be related, but just because you have a weird orange habit, doesn't mean that you have OCD.

Things out of their natural state have a tendency to gnaw at me; doors being open(they should be closed if they aren't being used), bunsen burners in any labs I had sitting on, etc. I'm not going to murder someone over it but it really distracts me.

I have it but it's pretty mild, I like my pillow to be hands length away from the edge of the bed and I generally like things to be even and moderately clean...

Everything must be one, three, five, six, ten, twelve, fifteen or twenty four, or any multiple of any two of those numbers, or any prime. It sounds like a lot of leeway, but you do the mental math... constantly.

Yes, I do have OCD, diagnosed at four years old.

EDIT: Also, symmetry is good. Non-symmetry is annoying at best, hellish at worst.

Not anything as extreme as in the OP. Mine are just like, I like to have light switches a certain way, but if I get lazy, I'll let it go. That kind of thing.
