I have to stand on more odd numbered steps than even numbered, if I stand on more even then I'll usually run back the way I came standing only on odd numbers before going back the way I was originally wanting to go, I've genuinely tried standing on more even numbered steps but I can't bring myself to do it. Another one I have is if one finger cracks I have to crack all my other fingers and thumbs and I wont stop until they have been cracked. I have lots of other small ones as well. I guess I'm just crazy.

All objects and series' (games, books, iPod touch apps) have to be organised a) by popularity and usage and b) alphabetically.

Both sides of my person (including clothes etc) have to be of equal weight and feel. If I scratch one arm, I scratch the other just to balance it out. Phone goes in one pocket, and because it is heavy, money and iPod go in the other. If I get sunburned on my front, I will go out the next day and burn my back. I play a little game with myself in the car- tense the muscles of the right side of your body as you pass a lamppost on your right, and the left side for the left. If, by the end of the journey, the tenses aren't even, then I use some other tall object in place of a lamppost. For balance.

Appliances (including laptop and Xbox here) have to be aligned with the nearest straight edge- whether it be the toaster with the wall at 5 cm or the laptop on the kitchen table lined perfectly with the straight groove.

TV remotes should be placed exactly on the middle of the arm of a chair, to do anything else is ridiculous.

And I have the annoying compulsion to correct ANYTHING someone does that is wrong. It makes me seem condescending and haughty.. which I'm really not.

All drawers and cabinets in my kitchen must be closed. I subconsciously close them whenever I walk by an open one.

Pretty mild as I can sometimes overide it / force myself to stop but have a thing about things being even. So say I accidently brush my left arm againt a door handle, have to brush against it with my right arm. Thankfully years ago I learnt to control that in public places where I brush up against a million things!

Also have to check all plugs are off before I go to sleep or I cant sleep, sensible in its way.

Oh and it also applies to my gaming sometimes which can be a pain, like in RPGs, skill points must be assigned in even numbers, 0,2,4,6 and 8, so like in fallout 3, all my SPECIAL points had to be even numbers. Oh and in WoW, regardless of whether its better for my build or whatever, my tallent points must be spent completely in skills. cant stand having 3 or 4/5 points spent in a tallent, have to put all 5 in there

No matter what I do I must do it with maximum efficiency. This is for real life things like errands, where its useful, but also to games. I have a habit of finding data about either characters, weapons, and abilities. I then break them down on spreadsheets into raw statistical data. Such as with Bad Company 2, I broke down all the weapons game statistics down to reload, ammo capacity, damage per shot at various ranges, and then used those to find out optimal kill conditions as well as the maximum length burst that could still effectively hit opponents.
I am going through the same thing with Alien Swarm currently and have found optimal weapon combinations for most characters under the various levels in the game. I still need to find more experimental data about average completion times which may allow me to better select equipment for higher DPS weapons while still not running out. I also have the figured out the time necessary to do action reloads and the changes the various characters have and now use my muscle memory from UT2k4. Best streak is currently 46 actions reloads without jamming in a single area; I use the Railgun so its not me wasting ammo.

I don't play or own Modern Warfare 2 and did this thing as well.

I have a tiny bit of every mental disorder. Some OCD, some ADD, some ADHD, some Multiple Personality Disorder, some schizophrenia, you name it, I have some of the symptoms of it.

it isnt very fun but it is better than having a lot of one disorder because this way i get to catch em all

do you see what i did there

Meh, i lock a door, and always end up going back 3 or 4 times to check its locked, i suppose that counts?
I think its mainly due to my severly damaged short term memory though so idk.

I'm pretty sure my stubborn returning to forums and comment threads despite knowing how much of a waste of time they are is an obsessive compulsive behavior, perhaps borne of seeking self-validation from a very poor source.

That orange thing is pretty fucked up right there, but I can top you:

The door to the room I'm in must be closed. I'ts fine when the room doesn't have a door, or if I'm outside, but if the room has a door it has to be closed or I can't relax.

I must press the buttons on my controller in a certain order and in a certain quantity without touching any part of the controller proper. Failure equals a repeat of this until successful.

Kind of, on my computer I've made a very specific point of organizing all my files, so that each folder must clearly state what it is. And also be punctuated properly.

I'm often compelled to do things, but I can usually suppress it. I wouldn't say I have OCD. I do have an odd habit of checking if the door's closed, even when I can see that it is. I have to go over and push it into the frame just to make sure. That's about it really - everything else I'm compelled to do, I often ignore. If I gave in every time, I'd just feel insane.

no i think im pretty normal i just have a few quirks like everyone else

My food cant touch and if it does i will push it away from each other so it doesnt

i have to eat it one item at a time such as fries then burger and i have a hierarchy of what foods get eaten first

I chew on stuff but i have been able to keep it under control by only letting my self chew on ice, straws, and my fingers which is much better than what i used to do since the crib i had as a child was covered in tooth marks

i can only sleep with my head pointed toward the east

i probably have others but they seem normal to me and no one has pointed them out as weird

One Compulsion I have for instance is to buy an orange, then every weekend I will go over to my sink, peel back the oranges skin and crush the flesh in my hands until it is mushy. Done this for 6 years and I MUST do this each weekend or I feel really out of place.

Do you have something unusual you absolutely must do without fail?
That's just a compulsion, not an obsession. Just sayin'.

And no, I don't do anything like that.

I had this thing where I had to wash my hands after everything, even something like touching a bit of dust. I washed them so much the skin on my knuckles cracked and started peeling, and my hands felt kind of like parchment.

But I don't do that anymore.

I can't leave anything open near me, every game that I have must be arranged on to of each other with no sides sticking out.
I also have a compulsion to push some buttons for no reason at all.
Same goes for walking on each line of a crossing and not on the spaces between them.
I'm also quite sharp on symmetry.
