Yes, but really; it has to be good, climactic and appeasing. I hate feeling dissapointed by a game's ending more than being so while playing the first five minutes.
I hate cliffhangers!! Cliffhangers not only deny conclusion, it also marks a potential for a decent IP to be milked! I'm not an anti-fandom, its just too sad to see good titles lose soul due to crap sequels.
Open ended endings are better IMO, even if there is an unlimited amount of interpretation, at least a story ended.
A game should ALWAYS have a conclusion. Sequel should be about a whole different story. For example MGS: There is that same main story in all games but they are in different times and there's a different metal gear to defeat.
Feels stupid to play a game and notice that in the end you didn't accomplish anything and the fight is still going on.
Not really they kinda piss me off! especially when they are unexpected!
like when your watching a film they get you into it then ... NOPE NO MORE FILM FOR YOU! SEE YOU IN 2 YEARS FOR THE SEQUEL!!!
...uh. Yeah, cliffhangers - just like scary movies, thrillers, politics, race, thought, effort, licorice, eating, coffee, and not entirely soft cushions - upset people, and should probably be avoided. Just to be on the safe side.
