I've watched the first half of the 2 episodes on this site, not really interested.

Can't say I hate the guy, I bet he could make me laugh.. Maybe he'l grow on me.

He's OK, but I don't think videos are his thing. There's just nothing he has to offer in his videos that he couldn't offer in an article or column.

He needs to spend less time be angry about video games and writing terrible rants and more time loseing fucking weight. I watched the first show and thought it was trivial bullshit, so in hopes that maybe he would actually have something decent to say this week I watched again, nope, still shit, will not be watching again.

Personally I hated it. To me it just came off a dull,crass and completely unfunny. But then again that is just me, everybody has there own sense of humor. To some he might be the funniest man on earth to others he is just crap.

But since you want opinions I will give you a few reasons why I hated it.

1. He does nothing, he just stands there talking crap for far too long for my liking. I would excuse this if what he was saying was funny but thats another story.

2. To me he comes off as obnoxious and unpleasant. I could only stand to watch one episode of his crap and even that tested my patience.

3. As I mentioned before I just do not find him funny or entertaining. Which coming from me says something, It is the only show on here that I have ever hated.

4. I DO NOT WANT TO SEE DUKE NUKEMS BALLS!!!!!!!!!!

I could only get through about half of each episode before I gave up, I don't like it but I'm not going to call for it to be taken off the site I just won't watch it.

For some reason, every time I see this thing, I start to think of Penn Jillette, of Penn & Teller fame. He's kinda the same deal, right down to body type. Except... it really doesn't work all that well. He comes off as crude and quite arrogantly cocksure of himself without any real reason for it. And honestly, he's just not funny. He's kind of like a knock-off brand Penn. A Pann Jollette if you will.

But the real thing is this: I haven't seen anything new or intresting yet. None of this stuff is new in any way. These topics have been chewed up and spat out countless times already. It's just beating a dead horse. And with his "laying down the goddamn law!" kind of attitude, it gives me the impression of an annoying kid trying to prove he's a big boy by mimicking things he heard from bigger boys and everyone already knows.

Also, man, don't wear those sunglasses. Really, just don't. You look like a horrible douche with them on. Which really just reinforces the impression your antics already create.

Much could be forgiven if Jim actually had something interesting to say. But he doesn't, alas.

I thought it was terrible and had no place on the escapist becasue it doesn't bring anything new to the table. After watching the first one I planned on reserving judgement on jimquisition until I had watched the next couple but after checking out his stuff on destructoid I can say that it would not bother me one bit if the escapist ditched it.

I like his show, he has a differnt (more verbal and radical) feel to ZP or extra credit. He is more serious then zp but less so then extra credit.

I feel it's cruel that a large portion of the escapist are against his show just because they dont like it, I havent complaied about Unskipable, Anthony Saves The World, Tales from the Table, Show About Games Show and Creature Caster Masters. All of these I havent complained about and you know why? well its because I am in no way forced to watch these shows so I have no reason to stop others.

He seems to be fixated with 'ironic' nudity and being degrading to women ? if you notice, his screenshots are always of women, lesbians or breasts ? but I hardly see these videos as a way to win someone over. Neither is the horrible clothing that seems to be straight out of 'The Spirit' and what kind of person wears aviators inside? Actually, forget that, I'm half-expecting him to remove them and have glassy white eyes like in 'The Omega Man'.

Also, anyone getting a slightly Orwellian vibe from his videos? Him just staring at the camera? Particularly the second video, where I SWEAR the backdrop is straight from 'V For Vendetta' (apologies for so many mildly obscure movie references). In short, Escapist ? why jeopardise your chances of a Webby by offsetting the fine work by Zero Punctuation and Extra Credits with drivel like this?

Uhh... you do realize that people, generally, are against something because they don't like it? If they liked it, they wouldn't be against it.
Redundancy aside, people are allowed, and indeed should, express their opinions about things. Otherwise, it's impossible to actually gauge any reactions and sooner or later everything has turned into shit.

Like any one of these video features, it's a mixed bag. Some are great, some are not so great. At the beginning it was obvious Jim wasn't really used to expressing himself vocally on air, but I think he's gotten better. I look forward to every new installment.

I enjoy the show whats more to say, he makes a radical yet intresting point. Its not much differnce between him extra credit and ZP
Jim = Over the top angry and radical
Zp = downright silly and overly negative
Extra = over analysis and devoted to the games industry

this gives each of them their own charecter, I would keep jim over every other ZP wannabe

I don't particularly rate him, I think he goes on for too long without actually saying anything. I agree with his overarching points but they are poorly made and the shows doesn't seem very well produced.

I think his style seems to suit written work better. I shall continue watching, but at the moment I don't think it's great.

My question is... if you can't stand him... WHY OH WHY OH WHY do you concern yourself with it? Don't like it? CLOSE THE WINDOW! then proceed to say to yourself, "Wow, I didn't enjoy that. Meh who cares, let's go watch something I DO enjoy instead and never think about it again."

I agree with this.

Considering the Escapist community prides itself on it's supposed intelligence and maturity, it is rather bizarre to see how many people get worked up over shows/articles that not only are completely free, but are also completely optional to even watch in the first place.

You are missing the point. There is a difference between not liking something and being against something.

I do not like some foods, that doesn't mean that I think these foods should not exist.
I am against racism/sexism and so on, I do not think these things should exist.

I ran a search, and didn't see a similar thread. And to answer your question (which could have been less confrontational);

I want to see if the majority of us feel the same way.

His question wasn't directly aimed at you, but the people in general who complain about the show.

Yes Jim, you're bad because you're saying things that have already been said, in a format like other shows here, the main problem being that yours is considerably worse in presentation and structure, less informative, not as funny (even not as funny as extra credits), and poorly constructured arguments that are neither functioning critiques nor biting satire. .

Extra credits funny? I must of missed that episode.
I find extra credits entertaining and intresting with his theories and solutions and the same goes for Jim.

TL;DR? His show is awful because it is a poor imitation of what we already have, done worse, with ten times the hubris and swearing..

I dont know of any other show like his, ZP is about video games and tends to be about small things that dont make sense, jim is more about the industry.

He is not like extra credit either because of his radical ideas.
