Me, I think the escapist is awesome, and would not want to see the quality of the content here be brought down by fucking dickwolves. As such, I am fully happy to say that I think the Jimquisition show needs to go.
Yeah because Yahtzee's "Senior Koquonfaes" was reminiscent of Oscar Wilde with it's razor sharp wit.
I'm not saying Yahtzee is like, a modern shakespeare or some bullshit like that. But Yahtzee at least was able to pull off some level of humor. Jimquisition basically just ripped off dickwolves from penny arcade, drew a shitty MS Paint picture, and call it a day. He fails both as a comedian and as critic.

Meh I enjoy it. it's a bit like ZP, maybe not as polished but overall he makes some valid points. to be honest I just see him as a very eloquent troll and that brings me some amusement.

He didn't rip off Penny Arcade, he was referencing that time Penny Arcade made a dickwolves joke and lots of people sc4eamed "sexist"... Because you know, he was talking about sexism in the industry.
perhaps, my memory is fuzzy, to be honest. But I think my point about him stands. He's not funny. He's TRYING to be funny by crossing lines, but that ends up all he does, crossing lines.

Most shows on the escapists fulfill one or two functions:

1. provoke discussion, provide information, and analysis: in a word, educate.
2. entertain

Jim does neither of these things. All his show has are his abrasive tone and his grating personality.

I sure wish the one person that checked "love it" would have spoken up. I'd have liked to hear why.
I clicked "love it"

I enjoy the show whats more to say, he makes a radical yet intresting point. Its not much differnce between him extra credit and ZP
Jim = Over the top angry and radical
Zp = downright silly and overly negative
Extra = over analysis and devoted to the games industry

this gives each of them their own charecter, I would keep jim over every other ZP wannabe
interesting, i feel the complete opposite. ive only watched the sexism one and my thoughts were that we was like the game overthinker or the big picture, only less thought provoking. it seemed like his was kinda trying to copy moviebob (though i dont know how long hes been around, for all i know he came first, but the last thing we need is more moviebob). his show just seems kinda stupid but harmless but i dont feel like it brings anything new. for me its a way to kill a few minutes but not really anything more. i dont care that much if he stays or goes though if it meant being replaced with something different (maybe something that ISNT analytical) i would prefer he go. i doubt he will be going anywhere though so he is welcome to stay and i just wont be watching. everybody wins.

ps-i hope it didnt seem like i was attacking you or saying your opinion was wrong and i apologize if it came off that way.

You know, polls like these could really be far more accurate and useful if they just had a straight "yes" and "no" option. Maybe with an "i don't care", but really, if you don't care... why are you voting? The poll is aiming to get an opinion from people who do care and have an opinion in order to find out out whether people enjoy it or dislike it, not if you're indifferent about it.

As for my opinion, i absolutely hated his show at first. I watched his one on sexism in gaming, and i was about ready to write him off as just another big-mouth with a mic, but then i watched one of his earlier ones from Destructoid. Specifically, the one about reviewers being harassed by game developers because they're "playing the game wrong". That really ticked me off, and i agreed with him whole heartedly that it's not the player's fault that they're playing it wrong, it's the game's bloody fault for allowing the player to play it wrong in the first place by not giving them the correct tools and instructions within the game itself. Then i started to look at a couple of others, such as his 'Zelda fans STFU' video. I was all ready to hate him all over again - he thinks Zelda and Fallout fans are stupid? The nerve! But as he started talking and saying how good Zelda fans had it, (first party developer, the fact every game is a masterpiece, etc) i got to realising how actually yes, he is right, and it's only really people like Sonic fans who have any room to rage as anything they get is often really, really shit.

So now i'm going to watch some more of his videos on Destructoid and probably any that show up here on the escapist. I get what he's trying to do; be a loud over-opinionated douche. It's an interesting way to go, and there is some method to the madness. I think he's just something you have to get used to. Once you get past the obnoxious shades and whiney voice you'll notice there is some actual merit to what he's saying.

I wacthed it and thought it was cool enough, but I didn't like the "adult" gay content in the second episode.
It's not that I can't a little nudity, and I not easily offened, but that was uncalled for.

We already have plenty of soap-box shows, and this guy is no Moviebob. I've made an attempt to watch both episodes of his show, and I've been able to last a minute into each of them before I turn it off in disgust and boredom. He's not insightful, he's not funny, and he's not even making an intelligent argument half the time.

Sorry Escapist, but this is probably the worst video series I've seen that wasn't on youtube...

Give him back to Destructoid.

I think he tries to draw from the appeal of other shows. He attempts to be witty (and British) like Yahtzee, Intelligent like Movie Bob and insightful like Extra Credits. I think he fails on all counts.

ive never watched his shows but have heard to many bad things to even bother.
by the sounds of it he projects exactly the wrong image of gamers that we are trying so hard to move away from. In that we are overweight, obnoxious loudmouths interested in nothing but seeing woman's boobs and lasbian sex scenes

The fact that he's been sitting crying on Twitter and calling anyone who doesn't like the show an "ignorant ****" pretty much destroys any credibility he will ever have here.

Contributors should either STFU about the comments they get, or man up and respond to their critics here. Whining about it on another website makes him look like a prick, a cowardly, immature prick who can't cope with criticism.

And it is incredibly unprofessional.

I've said it before and I will say it again there is only room for one snarky sarcastic british guy on this site and that position is filled.

A simple poll to gather opinion. I know where I stand on the guy (as in, I cannot stand the guy), but I want to see if the majority of us feel the same way. A quick glance at his episode comments shows a flood of "did not enjoy this." Some go so far as suggest he be canceled (I support that). So where do YOU stand with Jim?
I didn't hate his opinions, and I think people make waaaaay too much fuss about them, but I disliked the style of his verbal delivery. He's honestly not any better than any amateur YouTuber with an opinion, I could have probably cooked up something better and funnier myself with a webcam and a mic but I don't have the time and nobody's paying me. So could quite a few people other reading this, no doubt. Just goes to show that public narrative really is an underrated art form that few people really understand how to do well.

Wanting to ban the show is silly. If I were to ban everything I didn't like, there'd be almost no books in the libraries and the entire history of western film and computer games would be reduced to maybe 100 of each. Seems unfair on people with different tastes to me.

It is really meh. I'll watch it, but really only out of sheer curiosity. It really is just like a cross between Zero Punctuation and The Big Picture without the charm of either one.

While I can't really speak much for his actual persona based upon what I've seen here, (and to be honest, based upon what I've seen here, I have no desire to 'back track' to some of his earlier works,) but I'm not particularly impressed so far. To be perfectly fair, I didn't watch Extra Credits for *months* because I was of the ignorant bias, granted, that 'oh, look, another show about games'. Eventually a friend of mine talked me into checking them out, and I've found them to have some of the most thoughtful, thought-provoking, and informative episodes of any type of show (of which there really *aren't* that many) that I've seen, either on the web or syndicated by a large tv-station. So with that thought in mind, I thought I'd give his show a chance, and... well... Yeah. Not interested. Sure, ZP can be crass in its own right, but I have to admit, I find myself agreeing with Yahtzee, even while I occasionally wince at the delivery. The Jimquisition, though? Yeah. No, thanks. Hey, if you're fans, kudos, we're all allowed our own opinions, that's one of the beauties of the internet is the ability to share our diversity of those opinions. It's just that *this* is *mine*.

No, he is an annoying vblogger that rants too much, takes too long to get to the point, and punctuates his setences with 'fuck'. It is very hard to take his points in any way seriously because he doesn't even adress counter points to the very argument he is giving, instead simply attacking their ideas in a negative manner then supplementing his own in a slightly more positive light.

ontop of this... Fucking. Mic. Stand.
seriously if you flail your arms arround like a chipmunk while you talk and you can't keep the microphone at an even distance from your mouth at all times you should really invest in a mic stand.

I don't like him. I feel that we have enough of what he brings in MovieBob and The Overthinkerer (who is also Bob).
