Woah, I just realised that I am seriously fucked up.
I've never answered these "affairs of the heart" threads before but since I'm on my out the door what the hell. One freebie.
I honestly believe that if you don't learn to love yourself you can't really love someone else. I learned this through relationships where I really didn't feel that I knew myself that well and here someone was telling me how much they loved me and all I could think was: "How?? You don't even know me. How can you when I don't even know who or what I am?"
Knowing yourself is how you love yourself. Changing what you don't like or what you know is wrong (or dont know at all) is how you grow self respect.
If you know and love yourself you will never need anyone else to love you in a possessive sense to be happy. However once you do all that introspection and hard work it still won't stop people who haven't known you for more than a couple months from telling you how well they know you, how well you fit, and yes most illogically, how much they love you. Not much I can do about that....
Just remember that possessive love is just a game.
Unconditional Love (the Love you have, or that I believe you should try to have for all people) is what really does have the power to do anything. Romance has a time frame. Actually caring about human beings is how I believe we connect with the Infinite or at least something much larger and more important than any one relationship.

Hell yeah I love my self. You have to love your self before you can even hope of loving anyone else. Otherwise you will just have the thought of imperfection in the back of your mind getting in the way of you enjoying your life.
Overall I wish I was better at talking to people and had more overall drive. I have rather lofty goals, but barely the will to achieve them. It's pretty stupid.
Aside from that, though, I think I'm a decent, intelligent human being, and on occasion (especially when I'm around my immediate family, ffs) one of few people who's advanced past the maturity level of a 9-year-old.

I used to have terrible problems with my weight. That is that I hated myself and couldn't accept myself as I was.
I've gotten over that. I'm good. I don't say that I love myself, I just happen to actually like myself now. There are things I've gotta work on yeah, but I think I'm a pretty fun and interesting person to get to know.

I don't really hate myself per se, but I certainly don't love myself. I get incredibly frustrated with all the things I can't do, at least not very well. Even over the course of my studies at college during the last 2 years where I studied Multimedia I felt like I was creating cave drawings while everyone else was creating world class artwork like the Mona Lisa or something. Despite that I never had a GPA less than 3, so consequently I felt like a fraud. -_-

I can't really explain how much I love myself, but it's a lot. I guess it would be like what mikev7.0 was talking about when he mentioned "unconditional love". It's not because I'm fulfilling any goals or matching up with some impossible or even a possible ideal, it's just because. Confidence and self-esteem probably have something to do with it.
