Poll: Do you own a bath(tub) and do you use it?

In my experience baths seem like a better idea (i.e. for relaxation) than they turn out to be.

I use the shower, not the tub. After moving so many times I just can't feel the same way about the tub as I used to.

I have both a shower and a bathtub in my bathroom, but I use the shower to cleam myself and the bathtub to store the towels and my clothing.

Yes and infact I just came from it. If this was a thread about owning a shower (the small thing you stand on with the drainer the glass wall/ curtain then I would of typed no.

I have a bathtub, but because I live in drought-stricken California, no baths for me. Not even daily showers. I actually use "you can take a shower after" as motivation to exercise, and on days I don't exercise I pretty much just do a washcloth wipedown

You could always try a bucket bath. Just get a plastic bucket (about the size of a laundry basket) and fill it with warm water. Use a small pail to water yourself, put soap and shampoo on, then use what remains in the bucket to rinse yourself off.

Granted, it's not as enjoyable or comfortable as a shower or bath. But it'll get you clean, and in terms of water efficiency, it can't be beat.

my house has three bathrooms, all of which fit one's preferences. one has a shower only, one has a bathtub only, and the third has a bathtub/shower combination, which is the one i use. i shower.

Yes, a weekly soak in hot water is good for the muscles and skin. Just follow it up with a cold shower to rinse off the dregs.

Well, technically it's a dilute solution of your own "filth", which is surely preferable to wearing a concentrated layer of it?

And there's nothing stopping you showering before or after if that's an issue.

Baths are nice when I have a sunburn and don't want to have to deal with the pain of water rushing over the sunburn. Otherwise, I don't particularly enjoy them. Then again, the bathtub I have is really small, so it is hard to really relax in it.

My apartment is tiny, so no, only a shower. I find showers more practical, but the occasional bath would be nice and relaxing.

There is a bath in my house. We don't use it though, as it's really deep compared to most other baths. The hot water tank in my house isn't large enough to fill it by any decent amount. It's like sitting in a warm puddle.

There's a bathtub in my parent's house, but the only thing it really ever gets used for is as their dirty laundry hamper.

I have a tub in my house. I see it as two separate things. I shower when I'm just bathing for the day. A bath is for when I've been out hunting and have a chill, or when I've had a hard work-out and my body aches. Sometimes just when I've had a bad day and want to relax. I really need a bigger tub though, I'm at least 2 sizes too big for mine.

Yeah... That should sum up both the owning and the using of the bathtub portion of the shower/bathtub combo in my situation...

I only ever take showers in my house. Next time I'm in a hotel that allows smoking I'm gonna probably take a bath and smoke a cigar, forgot to do that last time I stayed in a place I could.

I've got one. I haven't taken a bath since I was a little kid. Too much time, too much hot water, don't need it for medicinal purposes, so eh.
