I agree with this person. I do this all the time. :D

Also, I might play more console games if I had a PS3 instead of a Wii. And in my room with my PC.

For me it has to be console, I have dabbled with LAN games and this usually follows the following steps.

I turn up, sit for 3 hours whilst patches are applied and cables are fitted, nothing works the host insults me my computer and my bloodline.

3 more hours of futility and opening of virtual this and that as well as loading the latest drivers etc to play System shock and Homeworld. Realising Direct x 9 is not compatible with anything made before 1999 and then there is four minutes of gaming before a complete server crash which causes all our computers to have a nervous breakdown.

Then we all go to bed(not with each other!) Though that would be preferable!

Or I turn on my XBox get an invite and I am playing in about 3 minutes with no LAG no swearing apart from when I get headshotted by a little 13 year old scroat!

This is my personal view and I know people love LAN gaming its just never ever worked for me personally please do not view this as an attack on your lovely PC gaming community!

Happy new year!

Have we met before on these boards? There's only so many people who know of Homeworld at all on here. It's an awesome game.

Well when I want to do some proper gaming(intense, hardcore, precise,..) PC it is, but when there are two or more people it's always more fun to pick up a console and screw around.

But for the most part mouse+keyboard just feels like home.

PC.

I actually put my pc through my television, and kick back with a controller for alot of the games I play...which would be the console experience. With superior graphics.

Eh... it really depends on the game. There are some that I can only play on one platform, e.g. The Sims, I've always hated on anything other than PC. It was just frustrating to play on Playstation. Also, the bulk of the games I like are strictly PC games. That said, I can play Portal on PC and Xbox. It just depends, I guess.

I love playing on my pc, however I spend infinitely more time online browsing for fixes and solutions to all the various framerate, performance, and otherwise annoying problems that seem to never make sense to me, if you want to fix a problem with tearing you have to download files, replace and edit whole sections, Pain in the fucking ass.

Realistically if steam didn't make buying games so cheap and easy I probably wouldn't play pc games, but when you can get c&c3+kanes wrath for like 12$ new online, or games you really want for peanuts, things are just great.

The day PC gaming bands together to set standards and uniformity like consoles, so games truely plug and play no problems, mixed with the mod community, and consoles will just die.
I remember laughing at my fellow xboxers when they got mad at me for smack talking xbls deal for supermeat boy, and 2 days later steam reaffirmed my statement by selling the game for muuuch less than on console.

Ahhh vs. thread, head for the hills!!

I prefer most of my games on the console (except shooters) but unfortunately my lack of a vehicle makes getting to a store difficult so I buy most of my games on Steam and play then on my PC.

PC. I have a $350 video card in it and can run pretty much any game at max settings so it beats out my PS3 with HDMI

Mostly console, the specs of my old gaming PC can't keep up, so it's pretty much relegated to more specific things such as RTS games and VNs, as well as a few Valve games.

Definitely console, for a number of reasons:

1. I hate sitting hunched over in front of my computer. Terrible way to game.
2. I hate keyboard/mouse gaming. Prefer a controller. Not interested in getting one for PC.
3. PC is too much trouble to keep updated. Not interested in having to manage all the requirements games have for PCs.

Basically it all revolves around the fact that console gaming is ideal; don't have to upgrade, can play on my TV from afar with a controller.

It seems strange to me that no one has figured out that if a keyboard and mouse isn't the most practical control system for a game, you can in fact connect a controller to your pc.

I was playing Bad Company on a really solid, $1000 custom-made PC with really high specs. It ran much prettier than on my Xbox 360 hooked up to my 480p TV, but it took over half an hour to patch when I wanted to play the game. I voted console, because playing on a PC is more fun once you start playing, but I don't like waiting for installation and long patches.

I prefer consoles, but only because my best computer is crap and I'm very limited by system requirements, a problem I don't have with consoles.
