Well, I don't usually look at the date of a post before reading it, and I doubt many other people do it either. Reason is that most time it's redundant information - I read topics on the first page of each forum, so they would be from generally the last few days or so. Even then, I don't visit the forums every few days, but enough times to catch most threads while they still have 1 page of discussion. So when I visit them, I'll see posts that are dated from today or yesterday, and are within few minutes to about an hour from each other.
