Never. It's just like piracy to developers and creators. Really - there's no difference.
you do know what game renting is right?
I do know. Look at it. When someone pirate the game, developer won't get any cash. When someone rent the game, developer gets ALMOST nothing.

Sooo, by your definition renting cars is almost the same as STEALING them? Same for renting DVDs I guess, right?

Also, by your definition, simply NOT BUYING the game is the same as STEALING it since developers get no cash...

No, not anymore. Not really much point in it seeing as I only buy games that are $20 or less anyways. I just got the first Assassin's Creed for $15 brand new yesterday. I can already tell it's worth it.

I wished I could, but sadly we haven't got a place to rent games around here. I have to miss out on a lot now, and I don't like it.

I rent anything that doesn't seem like it will be over 10 hours in length [with a few noticeable exceptions] so most of my owned library is RPGs

Yup, in fact I'm going more of the renting way than even buying a lot of new games. My problem is with my busy, busy life I don't have time to play many games at all. That and I tend to get sick of them after a while and don't see them through to the end. Therefore renting is perfect for me, I've enjoyed games like Fallout 3, Mario Wii, RE5 and so on just by renting them out when I have a night free and going nuts on them, then I feel I've done enough and don't have to play them anymore. It works for me.

Yeah I do, I recently started renting again, I don't have as much disposable income as I used to have so paying £40 for a game I'll likely complete in a week seems insane to me. Some games I will buy but for anything I'm not sure about, I'll rent first.

Not really. Only time is if I really like it and its a weekly. Mostly I prefer PC games so I dont get any FPS's, as no Video Stores rent out PC games in Australia.

rental places have to pay alot more for games and movies then regular retail, in the early days of it you could just buy a movie and rent it but after the rental buisness became big and lawsuits happened, rental places had to pony up more cash for each product usualy like 2 to 3 times its normal retail price so they can rent them to people.
