Yeah but only like 2 a day max.

I know it sounds retarded and probly like I'm lying to myself but I'm sure you can't get addicted if you keep this limit. I've been doing it like this for like 4 months now and I can go days without even thinking about it or wanting one. I also never feel the need for one I just have one to calm me down or to mellow out. And to kick off my imagination, it goes into overdrive after a smoking buzz.

I've been smoking for almost 11 years, only regularly for about 6. I started because smoking weed then smoking a Newport got me higher. I haven't smoked Newports for about 8 years. Yuck.

One day I'll quit. I have been cutting back and now I smoke the lightest cigarette ever, American Spirit Ultra Lights. I can barely tell the difference between smoking one and taking a breath of air.

I don't smoke. Nor do I drink. And I never will begin doing either one of those. Simply because I am not obligated to try it.

It's not that people "miss" the information. They either don't care or are willing to take the risk. And it is just a risk- because not everyone who smokes dies in middle age from cancer.

If only- the job market would be a lot better.

Only marijuana. Never tobacco.

Marijuana is worse than tobacco for your lungs IMO, but i do it far less than a tobacco smoker would smoke, so i guess that evens it out a bit. It's not addictive. Better than being drunk by a long shot.

Well from the OP's definition I do smoke.

"Basicaly, do you inhale smoke"

Yes, i do inhale smoke, but its second hand. I'm only 14 so i can't smoke, and i don't, but i got two chain smoking parents, and its winter so the house is all closed up.

And they wonder why im always in the backroom with the door shut, and why im always coughing when im near them.

I've always wanted to try a cigarette, just to have done it once in my life. I haven't actually ever smoked anything, though.

Edit: This post make me think - most stuff that's bad for your body/the environment seems to look that way as well (ex: oil in the sea is nasty and it also looks nasty), but this isn't really the case with smoking. In fact, any kind of 'breathing' is mostly associated with healthy activities. Which made me wonder: would it be possible to make healthy non-chocolate cigarettes with for example an eucalyptus substance instead of tabacco?

Used to smoke A LOT cigarettes... 10 or so on school days (because i couldnt always smoke at home, i ended up smoking more during the day), anything up to a full twenty deck when out with friends & at parties.

now only do it when drunk, stoned or really stressed/angry.
i've got my "emergency twenty deck" hidden in my room just in case, because these days its been quite easy to put me in a shitty mood.

Though i'm proud to say I haven't smoked since a few days after my now-ex-boyfriend dumped me, so that's about a month.

I smoke cloves, but very infrequently. It takes me months to go through a pack, and then a few more months before I get another. This is because I love the taste of the damn things, but really don't want to be addicted or have any more smoke in my lungs than natural processes would clear out. I also don't hit them very hard, just enough for the taste and a bit of mellow. If I feel the pull of them getting stronger I give the rest of the pack away.

However even this may end soon since the Philip Morris Monopoly Protection Act of 2009 passed, killing the Djarum Black cigs I like. The replacement "cigars" taste terrible. I'm even less likely to buy the unmolested originals online than I am to go get the nasty-ass fake ones in the store.

First of all, young sir, your parents are effectively forcing you to smoke. Second hand smoking is just as hazardous as regular smoking. If I were you, I'd take your parents smokes and flush them down the toilet, and continue to do so until they acknowledged that they are the ones with a destructive habit and that if they are responsible parents, they won't make you suffer for their own lack of judgment.

If they choose to smoke, they should bloody well go outside, winter or not. You must reap what you sow they say, and smoking is a perfect example. They are the ones doing something wrong and destructive, they should take full responsibility for it and deal with it.

Though they must have done something very good when they raised you, if you seriously think that 14 year olds should respect the age restriction. I had minors coming up to me since I was 15-16, asking me to buy smokes for them. The legal age in Sweden is 18, but I looked older, with my facial hair and whatnot. Damn kids. I should have stolen their money at some point.
Yeah dud ei tried everything you said already, they aint quitting, ive talked to them and took direct action by crushing their smokes and shit.

When i talked to them about it i got the "I've been smoking for longer than you've been alive, i can't stop"

When i crushed the smokes i got grounded, for a month.

Same way that people go to loan sharks, do illegal drugs, waste days on waiting for a drop on MMOs, rant about how this latest nerf has killed the game, ride a bike with no helmet...

Because they can.

Just a FYI:

Smoked 20 full strength a day for 17 years. Gave up. Hardest thing I've ever had to do, but I still don't object to anyone having a cig near me.

If you want to know what giving up is like, give up your games and the computer for a week; but watch other people play on one whenever you can. That'll give you an idea.

If you want to know why people start, imagine having a machine that would punch people you disagreed with over the internet, but you really shouldn't use it. All you have to do is press the tilde key. The shiny, candylike key. You've been told that it means people can spot you using it but...

Kids have to take classes to stop kids from smoking by showing them the dangers but I think this may only be pushing them forward. While the public trys to make not smoking cool they just really can't. The only thing they can do is scare kids or grow ups from smoking. Heck in the outsiders movie you see the main hero smoking. The media is mainly gonna push people to smoke. We can't make smoking illegal (look where the 18th amendment got us) but we can scare people out of doing it.

Good luck with that... I hope they flush your stuff because of it.[hr]More interesting question in my opinion is why did you all start smoking? Obviously to the minority of you that do smoke.

Noooooo. However, I live in the city and I have one parent who does smoke and one who used to. My lungs are probably as black as a smoker's by now.
