Yes. I actually think the me that does the talking and the me that does the thinking are two separate me's.

Often because when I talk to myself it's not something I thought about saying or tried to say, I'm just suddenly talking. I actually have a theory that there's a whole pantheon, where I'm the "primary mind", and there's the animalistic secondary mind, the anonymous mass of the tertiary mind, and a whole mass of sub-minds that serve the various groups.

Like Boris. Boris is... not a nice man. Very not nice. He's capable of more physical feats than I am, but has to be repressed down to a cruel little voice or else he'll... do not nice things. To everyone. Boris is affiliated with the "secondary mind".

He's kept repressed by elements of the Tertiary-Primary mind alliance, primarily the sentinel (primary) and the guardian (primary-tertiary hybrid). They don't talk, they're just elementals of control and perception.

I never told my therapist about them. In hindsight, maybe I should have.

Yup.

I do it so I don't feel so lonely......
Plus it helps me think. I've come up with a couple of gems with my babbling.
ever notice how jokes are WAY better when you say them to yourself , by yourself?
, that whole "auto-mobile" transformer joke really sounded like a knee slapper

When you work closing shifts in a Target backroom and your by yourself for hours on end, it is inevitable.

I sometimes mutter stuff to myself if I'm working out a maths problem or something.

I also have a tendancy to talk to games (especially RTS's) to clear my mind, with phrases like "you go there", or "and I'll move this here".
In some cases I take out my frustration with such prases as "now how the fuck did he get there?!" and "surely they cant do that!"

All the time, I narrate my life and yell at videogames and make noises of discontent when I mess something up while playing. It's a fun party

Oh heck yes I talk to myself. When I used to work at target I would get extremely bored towards closing and i would talk to myself until my shift ended. And then I also talk to myself when I'm driving alone, or at video games, but not as much.

Hmm... two of those apply to me. I'll choose the yes option because it is the most correct. The voices in my head don't tell me to do horrible things, instead they bicker about movies, music, and video games.

I only think to myself (I tend to do this constantly, which can be annoying when I need to focus on something).

Why do it when you are alone?!

I hold whole conversations with myself, in public, loud enough for people to hear.
Why shouldn't I?
