Poll: Do you think that women being topless in public should be allowed and accepted?

I've always been confused as to why it is socially acceptable for a man to be barechested in public, magazines, and commercials, while women are forced to wear a top. I believe that we shouldn't discriminate against a person simply because of a physical difference.

I'm not talking about having every woman stand in line at the store with their breasts exposed. I'm talking about women being topless at beaches, pools, or parks. Situations where men are commonly accepted to take their shirts off.

What's your opinion on the matter?

P.S. I'm quite aware that there are topless beaches.

None of this is including public Breastfeeding.

No, because then half of the internet's bewb industry will be ruined. C'mon, are you willing to sacrifice a whole internet industry based around bewbs just to watch usually unattractive women flaunt their jigglies in public?

It's really not the same thing. That would be (kinda) like if guys didn't have to wear pants in public.

A good motto is: If it can swing, cover it up!

Edit: Of course my 2000th post would have be something like this... xD

Beaches and pools generally noone bats an eyelid in my experience but parks i'm not so sure. I can definitely see your reasoning behind this but i dunno, the whole reason it is acceptable for men is because there is nothing of sexual note to the chest, whereas with women obviously there is.

Sudden over exposure to it would get rid of the sexual connection related to breasts. As soon as you see something all the time, it becomes that little bit less interesting. If women want to walk around topless, that's grand, there's no reason why anyone should be scared or offended about a part of the human anatomy. It's when they start to get arrested for indecent exposure that I start to get pissed off. I can understand how the directly sexual organs and kids/adults/animals can be a bad combination but everyone always seems to forget that we all, at some point, had breasts the size of our fucking heads right up in our face a good few times a day. There's nothing menacing about them at all.

I don't see why not but covering up is probably more for their personal safety than anything.

I see quite a few people witthout tops on at the beach, of course they are sunbathing there back just to get rid of the bra strap tan line and you dont see anything, not that im complaing of course.

If they thought it was absolutley necesary, but of course, men can wear shirts off cause there isnt really anything useful or beautiful up there.

In certain situations I think it'd be fine. I mean after staring at some ugly shirtless men, I think women should be allowed to go shirtless in certain situations like swimming.

I think such a policy should be restricted to attractive women with nice looking boobs.

Oh come on, you were all thinking it

Of course, if you want a serious answer, women are not allowed to go topless because their boobs are sexual objects, mens chests are not. There was a case about a guy with moobs a few years ago that ruled female boobs are sexual objects and must be covered up wheres mens chests are not sexual objects. Simples

No way...
I mean, I'm friends with a fair number of girls who would be happy to be topless in a public place (not trying to say they're slutty or whatnot, just more confident about themselves), but I'd hate to be around them. I'd find it weird to try talk to them. That awkwardness would be even worse if it was, say, a woman much older than me. I'm perfectly aware there can be women above the age of 20 with beautiful bodies and be attractive but I could never take them seriously. ESPECIALLY if they were a mother. It'd be an embarrassment to me if I found out my mum had her tits out anywhere other than in a shower/bath, and I can imagine it'd be the exact same for someone else.

It would distract guys FAR TOO MUCH. If I was in a park or somewhere like that with a guy I was dating, I don't want his attention to be split between the various women bounding around with their tits out & none of it directed towards me unless i punch him in the gut and put a pair of blinders on him.

Also, there'd have to be age restrictions too.
I mean, I'm nearly sixteen. If I was to sit on webcam to a guy, even if he was not much older than myself, topless, he would be done for viewing child porn. That doesn't happen to me if there's a guy on webcam to me with no top on.
So if an underage girl wanted to do the same as her underage guy friends & go topless in a public place, it would probably break a lot of laws. Not her personally, but guys around her. It's illegal for anyone under the age of 18 to see breasts on video/webcam too.
The legal issues are so complicated I don't know much more than that...

tl;dr, no, no way, never ever ever ever ever ever. I don't want to see women with their tits out in Kelvingrove park next summer, or during any summer for that matter.

That is very similar to my point of view.

Yeah. Let's settle this. Now, like it or not, we have to face the fact that women are the more beautiful gender. There's a certain kind of grace there you don't get with us males (yeah, we're pretty shit). Just because women happen to be more curvacious in the breast region it's no reason to cover it up. Sure it'll turn on every guy for the first few weeks, but then hopefully we'll all grow up to be perfect.
