It is allowed here in Canada after a bunch of topless women protested on parliament hill for the right to do so. So I heard...

Um, because the reason men would want women topless in public is because they like to oggle the female body. They don't actually give a shit about being "equal". It's about them getting a free show. Duh.

Also, I have no desire to see another woman's breasts.

It's legal. But no one does it so there wasn't really a point.

It's really not the same thing. That would be (kinda) like if guys didn't have to wear pants in public.

A good motto is: If it can swing, cover it up!

Edit: Of course my 2000th post would have be something like this... xD
How is that in any way like if men didn't have to wear pants in public? Last time I checked women (well, at least straight, sexually active women) damn well enjoyed the site of a fit dude with no shirt on. It's every bit as sexual as a woman being barechested, yet for some inexplicable reason society deems it ok for guys to do it. As for the if it can swing, cover it up motto, why does it not apply to fat guys with man boobs that wouldn't be contained by a D cup?

Similarly, while not illegal, it's considered 'slutty' for girls to wear dresses (not even short dresses necissarily) or clothes that show off the shape of their body, yet nobody ever seems to care when dudes do it (wear clothes that show off their figure, people are less accepting of dudes wearing dresses, well in most venues anyway)...

It's an incredible double standard and I loath that society is so hellbent on it.

*edit* Holy shit, the majority of 'against' arguments seem to be based around the assumption that men are completely enslaved by their sex drives. One would hope that in a mature community such as this people would have the common sense to not treat steriotypical charicatures portroyed in the media as accurate representations of the everyman. The truth is men do not need sex any more than women do so, all those people saying that we have no self control and lose ourselves at the first sign of nippes should probably grow the fuck up.

The reason that breasts are sexualized is the fact that our media and society both depict them as such. In Africa and India, women's breasts are not thought of as "sexy". They're a part of the human anatomy. The ears and neck both have around the same amount of sexual receptors as the nipple, but women don't wear ear bra's.

What I don't understand is why men can be shown topless in nothing but pants, but women can't. It just boggles me, consider me boggled.

But yeah, I get what you're saying. Except for the dress thing - it's extremely normal for girls to wear extremely short dresses or skirts where I live, not slutty at all.

And by the way, you might want to edit slightly - it kinda sounds like you said it's not weird for guys to wear dresses that reveal their figures. :D

Well...umm...you see the....umm... They...umm... good question

Well maybe it's because they jiggle around a lot and men can get distracted by that. So just avoid that by making them cover it up.

How about instead of saying which parts of the human anatomy are "dirty" we all jut grow up and wear clothes optionally. Bring our society as a whole out of a kindergarten "boys have a penis, girls have vaginas hehehehehehe" mentality and into a more adult, "yes, this is the human body now what's next on the agenda" mentality.

Nudity should be optional and unnoticed in my opinion.

Hahaha, yeah, I'm in the process of editing, you're not mean to reply that quickly :S

Yeah, girls can be real bitches to other girls that dress up. I have friends who've literally been abused by other girls for wearing dresses and the like to casual drinking venues, it's ridiculas.

Thats whats femenists are trying to fight for! Atleast in Sweden there were some femenists that were trying to go topless at the pool.
Aaaaanyway it would feel real strange at first but the next generation wouldn't think of it as they grew up with it. Forward thinking gents!

They're wads of fat and nerves dangling off the chest. Seriously, when you think about it, breasts are about as erotic as a flyswatter to the balls.
