Regardless of whether or not the world is "real", it still exists, just as characters in video games aren't "real", they still exist in some sense of the word. It's the same for us.

Unless you wanna get technical, in which case, no. Nothing humanity has ever done has affected the universe beyond, from a universal perspective, changing the exact placement of some atoms within a microscopic dot on a microscopic dot for the duration of a few million years. This is made even more insignificant when you consider that time and space are infinite. Divide the time and space of humanity by that of the universe and you get an infinitely small number, which is 100% insignificant. Something 100% insignificant cannot truly be considered existent, so no we don't exist.

i have thought about that question sense about 8th grade. the final conclusion to what i have come up with is this: every single idea that any of us has had creates the possibility to an alternate ending in your own view of reality thus meaning that we both exist and not exist all at the same time.

I exist, simply because I know I do.
Do you exist? Well you are an extension of me as soon as you awknoledge I exist. If I exists, my thoughts, although trapped inside my head, exist, as do my words which are an extention of my thoughts. I exist, and so must you because you are an extention of me as I you.

However, the same can be said: If I thought of Santa Claus does he exist? Well as a thought yes, as a tangible being, possibly. As a human? Doubt it.

I believe I exist, because if I believed I did not then I would not have the ability to believe anything at all.

That I may have a belief one way or the other proves to at least me that I exist. If another person's belief is in disagreement then I shall obviously believe that mine is correct, because my belief only proves to me that I exist, and therefore I have no proof to myself that the one with whom I argue even exists at all.

The only thing we have is ourselves in this matter--"we" being an inappropriate term in this case because I may only be talking to myself.

Regardless of whether or not I exist, something exists which allows the illusion of me (and you) to take place. Even if this is a dream of a dream, there still is a dream and there is something dreaming--it seems highly unlikely that there could be an illusion without any reality in any other dimension or anything like that.

However, there is no objective way to determine whether or not I or anybody else is in fact 'real,' in the sense that we are actually self-aware consciousnesses and are indeed situated roughly physically in this universe as we have determined, so I put the stamp of "Unknown" on the case file.

Within the ten dimensions, there are a lot of variables that cover a lot of things. Even imaginary things exist, therefore since I incur a change whether in my own head or externally - I exist.
