Borg adapt well.
DALEKZ DO NOT NEED TO ADAPT!
DALEKZ ONLY NEED TO EXIST!
VICTORY!
vIICCTTOOORRRYYY!

Aside from their tendency to be killed by some English bloke with a number of redshirt sidekicks (wait, aren't the Borg vulnurable to those too?) my money is on the impenetrable self replicating time travelling flying death machines. Even if they started losing the stand up battles, they'd just go and kill all life in the galaxy so the Borg couldn't reproduce.

That's my nerdy take on it at any rate...

I once saw an old episode where the Doctor's companion had to fight off waves of Daleks using a cannon that fired concentrated rock music (or something equally silly), and it worked! Obviously the answer to this question therefore depends on the Borg's taste in music.

Also, the main reason VS threads are bad is that they tend to start arguments. I honestly don't see a serious argument starting in this thread.

(or does that count as two words? Meh, anyway.)
RTD gave them magical flying wings.
Bullshit he did. So many people bring this up (even on Doctor Who Confidential, when they talk about this "new" trick), to which I always have to respond "Did nobody fucking see Rememberance of the Daleks!?"

Most epic cliffhanger EVER.

And honestly, this was far cooler than in Dalek because after you heard Adam mocking it, you knew it would find a way up those stairs. Here you just assume that they're safe until you see it floating up and my reaction the first time I saw this was "OHMYGODWHATTHEFUCKISITDOING!!!???"

Sorry bout that, on topic I'd say the daleks would win quite happily simply because they are designed purely for the purpose of killing and conquering, the Borg are not. I doubt even the borg could adapt to the kinds of weapons these guys would wield. And you can't really assimilate a dalek either, that metal kinda gets in the way...

And to all those who say that the the Docotr beats them all the time, well yeah, but he's pretty much the only thing who's been able to beat them. In the audio book canon, when they took over the Earth it took 100 species banding together to dislodge the fuckers. And that didn't even permanently get rid of them! Genesis of the Daleks was based around the idea that they'd end up being the only species left in the universe after destroying everything else.

I feel like I'm pulling a benedict arnoold here and supporting the Limey science fiction alien species, but I think daleks would win.
Borg have the same problem as Zombies, as their main source of sustenance (the technology other races create) is also their main source of reproduction (assimilation) is also their main predators (assimilate this!) It just doesn't work.
So even though the Daleks can be beaten by a british ponce in a blue box, in the end they would win against the borg, because they literally only have one goal... exterminate!

I admit that as a Brit I'm kind iof biased, but i'm going to give my opinion anyway
I know the borg can supposedly adapt to weapons, but Dalek weaponry can kill a species who have the ability to cheat death by regenerating. In simpler terms, Daleks can kill people who are supposed to be immortal. I don't think any cyberpunk cyborgs are going to be able to top that.

And you think stairs can protect you? I have one word for you: ELEVATE!

Borg

True the daleks can take over the doctor who universe. I believe the borg ships are stronger and the borg shields will stop the delak's ray gun.

In Revelation of the Daleks, the DJ builds a barricade and hides behind it, and kills the first two daleks to break into his office with his sonic death ray. However:

Unfortunately for him, more than two daleks were sent to kill him

Well, hard to say if Borg or Dalek ships are stronger...but the Borg only ever seem to send one ship at a time to attack somewhere (which is unbelievably stupid).

In the star trek universe borg ships are unbelievably strong. Also they have been known to mass larger amounts of ship when needed.

daleks are a lot less intimidating than the borg, but anyone who is a fan of both doctor who and star trek could tell you the daleks are way, way more powerful. they could probably take on q!

at one point the daleks nearly destroy reality

You know, for all the talk about the borg being able to adapt, they sure got their ass handed to them quite a lot from the same group of people.

The Daleks are not above (temporary) cooperation with other menaces in the universe to further their own goals and they just seem more cunning and tenacious than the Borg.

Besides, the Daleks have their own 'Borg', so to speak:

Except when they aren't. In The Best of Both Worlds the Enterprise could have destroyed the Borg cub by itself using the modified deflector, except Locutus alerted the Borg to the danger. In First Contact, the human fleet is able to destroy the cube by concentrating fire on a weak point, but not before they launch the sphere.

Having said that, that could jsut be poor writing.

The Borg are Borg against their will. Even tea drinking Picard was able to unBorg himself with a little help from his friends. (How come no one's done a music video of A Little Help From My Friends with clips of Picard's Locutus episodes? And why would the Borg from a different part of the galaxy give its latest acquisition a Latin name? Picard public school training leaking through, I'd wager.)

The Dalek are genetically engineered to despise everything but themselves. They want to win on a cellular level. The Borg would not stand a chance.

Then again, the Doctor would have taken care of the Borg in about half an episode.
