Geek Speak: Basically any terms normally used in a nerd environment or by a geeky sort of media.

Real World: The place with the Day Star, which burns your pale flesh and assaults your eyes with its great light. More broadly speaking, anywhere not considered a nerd environment.

Personally, I use [a href="http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/Firefly"]Gorram[/a] quite a bit. Also [a href="http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/ptitle6mc33q878da1"]Feth[/a], with less occasion but more variety.

Please: Let's not make this about how you would define 'geek' or 'nerd'. Just assume that when I am using them I mean whatever definition of the terms you are personally OK with.

Sometimes I say lol (as a word) sarcastically, and variations of brb in its normal use. Plus I use noob/newb often more seriously.
(I never actually use lol ever online though, ironically)

I call people "schutta" or "murglak", I insult or talk in drow and others. And sometimes a topic will come up about orc mating habits.

That or I make dice jokes. "Ha! Take 1d6 damage, please" when someone hits himself.

I use them ironically like the dirty hipster I am. However I too occasionally use a gorram but only to myself. I also just heard the term fluffling lufflekitty which I may use.

I'm pretty bad, especially around other geeks or people who I know will get a certain reference. I mostly pepper my speech with references to D20 rules with the occasional slang from sci-fi or fantasy thrown in for the hell of it.

I drop "gorram" a lot and "Make a Reflex save!" I also like to use programming terms like "FUBAR" and "automagic." "FOR THE EMPEROR!" makes for an inspiring start to a coding assignment, but I mostly just confuse people around me.

Once I get good at it, I'll start insulting people in D&D draconic and Skyrim draconic (if I can find a dictionary).

I say the word "lol"
Or use Yahtzee's word "MMORPG"

I also say "Blood for the blood god" whenever someone has an accident and cuts themselves

The only nerd related word I would use is "Noob" as in..

"Haha, look at that noob fall on his face as he tries to walk down this ice"

Thats happened to me. I tried to fight the bully using a large vocabulary and intelegence but he just got confussed then when we were discusing the sitiation with the princible he claimed that i was insulting him and making him feel stupid. He punching me in the face!!!!

OT: Yes all the time. I sit in a group with other nerds so it's like a second language to me. It's also hard to break when talking to people who don't share my love of all things 'nerdy'.

I am unfamiliar with most geek slang. A lot of people in this thread say gorram and I'm unsure of what it even means. I do, however, make a lot of geeky references that people don't understand. Or they might not get them because I reference old things that most people in my age group seem to know nothing about.

I sometimes say a mumorpeger for MMORPG's (thank you Yahtzee) and I sometimes use "lol" but it is only with certain types of people.

Hahaha I'm sorry. I probably shouldn't even post... I thought the thread title said "... Greek slang." I became very curious... Alas, I was somewhat disappointed. Haha might as well answer though. Um... OT: I do :)

P.S.: Got a few drinks in me, so excuse the possible grammar mistakes and ALSO the possible asshole...ness haha. And the excessive use of "haha." Also, I'm sorry I used so many exclamation points.

Just noticed I didn't use a single exclamation point... haha time to get off the internet, I suppose.

i wont use any acronyms like lol or brb in my verbal conversations, though i have one almost every scentence i send over the internet. i will say noob sometimes though, but only around my close friends who wouldnt give me weird looks for using it. using nerd dialect isnt really accepted in the real world, unfortunately.
