Apart from once or twice for hilarity-based-Static-X-hair reasons, no.

Dread wax, though...

No, I find using hairgel to be rather.
Unattractive.
Like having spunk in your hair, it gets white sticky and it smells most of the time.
So yeah, I hate gel as well.

Only when I go to a family gathering(Easter, Christmas eve, ect). Also when I want to Impress a girl because almost every chick I know loves a guy with gel in his hair. But not to much. I dont want to look like a Douche. Look up Douchebag on google Images, and then look at the hair in one of the photos you find. You will see what I mean(for a real good example look up a picture of any man from jersey shore. I know, It will hurt to look but Its the best example I can think of). So yeah. I dont use enough to look Like a raging douche. Just enough to look good.

How would I maintain my epic mane of punk spikes without a gel-like product? In this case it's styling glue, but while I understand the distaste for the way gel is generally used, it's because they're using it wrong (at least, I think so).

I can't think straight if I have greasy hair, I need to wash it at least every 2 days minimum. I would never put any kind gel in it. Plus it feels disgusting.

I've been known to use it if my hair is long enough to really style. Usually I get a very short haircut specifically so I don't need to worry about such trivial nonsense.

Uhh, I use hair gel all the time. I have a fairly expensive and nice hair cut and using a small amount of hair gel actually makes it look better. Also, what type of gel are you talking about? It sounds like the only people who use hair gel you know of are guidos or something.

I personally don't use it - I couldn't really care less.

If you want to use it, that's fine by me - sometimes it even looks good, but you will be judged.

Edit: That sounded horrible, I guess it's difficult to indicate that it's basically a 'not-a-big-deal-but-not-something-I-would-exactly-count-as-a-positive' thing on the internet...

Only time I would have ever needed it was when I had a mohwak, but I just tended to let it flop over to one side instead. It was cheaper, easier, and all in all looked better. There's just something a little wrong about dumping a gallon of hair gel onto a hair style that's considered a symbol of punk rock.

I used to, but then found a way to style my hair how I like without it, so I don't anymore. Looks better now, in my opinion.

I used to use a little gel at the front but after a while I just started molding it when wet and now it naturally grows this way.

I use hair product to look professional at work, after a shower my hair looks crazy, so a little gel (or fudge) goes a long way to making me look presentable.

I think it's a matter of degree.

I only use product when my hair is any length to speak of because I have fine hair that turns into a volumised White Boy 'Fro if it's clean and any longer than about 2 inches.

The Paulie from Jersey Shore "guido crown" look is just ridiculous though...

Hence I usually have hair at the top and front of my head cut at an inch or less, the back and sides at about half an inch. No room for movement means no mess and no-one can pull my hair during training.
