I use them as jokes with friends. I call them hicks and they call me an Eskimo.

Only as a joke or what I suspect to be a fairly accurate preconception of a person.

I stereotype a lot of things.

A door is something with hinges and a knob to be opened. A window has all right angled corners and glass embedded in it. Garlic makes things tasty. A full mug contains a hot drink.

Oh, you mean stereotyping people?

Yes, but 76% more crap is just more crap.

Nice to see that some people can see sarcasm over the internet.

Yep. I see a chav, I assume that they're unfriendly. It's not exactly fair to the individual, but I feel like I've been given more than adequate reason over the years to dislike chav culture.

I can't say I don't because like all people I'm a bad judge of myself.
(Anyone who's perfect is lying)
I can say however that I do Prototype.

This; I live in a street full of them, and we've had coppers down here various times because of them. Noisy, drunken kids who have kids themselves. And they get rewarded for it. Makes me sick.

You, my friend, are the biggest liar of the century.
Stereotypes don't have to apply to a group of people. One person could be a certain way in your mind and so you'll discriminate against that person more than other people. Don't tell me you don't have a trust system, either because then you're just lying to yourself

Ok.
The reason humans have stereotypes is because we are too stupid to comprehend everything going on around us, let alone know everything (the main prerequisite for renouncing stereotypes entirely).

It is much easier for our brains to function if we have a set of preconceptions which we can use to predict the behaviour of people we don't know based on their appearance. However, it is important to note that stereotypes are fallible and prolonged exposure to what was stereotyped can alter the correctness of the way you typify that group of people.

You are arrogant if you completely deny that you use stereotypes.

I do my best not to use stereotypes, but it's hard since the same type of people always seem to steal or attempt to steal from my store.

It depends on what you mean by stereotypes - completely ridiculous ones, or rational ones based on years of observation? They run the gamut. I'd say yes - I'm a bit racist, and I like many others use stereotypes in jest. You can't get away from them.

I only use the ones that apply to my own race, and even then, only the ones that've been proven true. (I'm looking at you, "gangstaz".)

Think about a communist country.

See, everyone uses stereotypes, maybe subconciously, but you still are using them.
