It really depends. If the topic is in it's infancy then I'll post, but Katakori-Kun, usually beats me to most of the polls I look at and has my opinion only a thousand times better worded.

Also, self-defeating thread is self-defeating, you are guaranteed to get a very biased result (as you have) simply because of what you are asking. And there are probably many more lurkers, some who don't even have accounts, laughing and saying "I am not voting, Mwahahaha." or something... okay maybe not but you get the picture.
Heh. You saw right through me. Yeah, the main reason why I wanted to make this thread was to see how many people would point out the irony or notice something off. So far, you're the only one who has. Strange...

I tend to do both but if the poll is something like "what's your favourite ice cream flavour", I know that nobody will care to read my response so I'll just vote and leave it at that.

Sometimes I vote and post, sometimes I vote but don't post. If the poll sums up my opinion neatly, or someone else does, or if it's not an issue I care to stick my nose into, or if I'm just tired, I probably won't post.

Just the same with any thread.. Sometimes I look at the thread, Read the OP and go NOPE wont touch that with a 10 foot pole. Seriously there are a LOT of positions you simply cannot voice on this forum without inciting massive amounts of nerd rage.

Sometimes the most you can do is voice your opinion in the poll and just walk away quietly.

I vote, and I post if I don't see many many posts that are saying the exact same thing I'd say.

I usually post if I have something I want to say about the subject that helps the conversation or could alter peoples opinions. Or if some twit asks me whether i post or not.

Sometimes I vote but don't post. Sometimes (but not alot) I post but don't vote. And most of the time, I do both, like right now. All depends on what kind of mood I'm in, and depending on the choices in the poll

It really depends, sometimes my opinion can be voiced in what option I chose. Other times I post to voice my opinion further, it all depends on the situation

I usually say something.
Either to clarify something in the voting on to quote someone to partly try and keep the thread running so the post can get more votes.

This thread is spectacular in its self-fulfillment.

OT: I do both, usually. I often use the poll as a measurement of how welcome my opinion will be.

If I bother to vote, I nearly always post as well, unless I feel the poll option perfectly summed up my opinion anyway.

22 posts and no-one else has seen this o_O
I think I give this community too much credit sometimes :p

And making a thread purely for a social experiment? Tut-tut-tut...

I rarely post on a thread that I vote on, but obviously not NEVER because that wouldn't make any sense....

This is a habit of mine that I can't seem to break. I will always vote in a poll, but then I'll never post in the thread. Don't ask me why, because I sure as hell don't know either. Maybe it's because I figure voting will mean I already put in some response and that no other response is necessary. Maybe if I'm asked to give some more input, but that's very rare.

So Escapists, simple question: Do you vote and post?

[sub][sub]And let's pray to whatever deity is out there that the Escapist doesn't eat my poll...

EDIT: YAY! It's still there! :D [/sub][/sub]
I always post... pretty much because I like people to know which stance I take... and also so that if I look back on my posts in the future, I can see what stance I did take! :p (And whether I have changed my mind!)

You of course realize that there are going to be people who enter, "I vote and post", yet leave without posting, right?

Oh yes, I vote and post, incase it was not obvious.

I don't always post when I vote. I vote and not post more often then when I do both though.

I don't always post when I vote but when I do I prefer... English, yeah that kinda fell flat.

Voting in the poll doesn't bump the post, commenting does. If I like the thread I feel a degree of obligation to post in it so it doesn't sink as fast.
