Yes, my dad does because he is the best and coolest dad on the planet and I am saying this with no sarcasm in my voice at all :).

My dad plays a lot of FPS's. He's not all the good, but has...persistence.
Quoted for the truth. It's actually the reason that I enjoy both COD and Halo so much, I can play both with him on the same console.

Yes, my Mom played a lot of Ms. Pac Man growing up and currently plays a lot of flash based puzzle games. She loves puzzle games, card games like spider solitaire too.

My Dad doesn't touch any of it.

My Mom used to play Tetris on the Sega GameGear before my brother and I came home from school.

Now she just sticks to Tetris on her phone.

Pretty much, a no.

Oh, how I wish they would; definitely would've made bonding with them easier. They're very much more likely to pressure me into getting strait-A's (at high school I did, but at college that's asking too much) and constantly look down on video games like they're completely worthless. They don't even play casual games in their free time, just watch sports games or sit around and do basically nothing. The one time they tried playing was at a New Years party with Guitar Hero, to which they quickly became disinterested in when they couldn't beat "Smoke on the Water" on easy.
Do we have the same parents or something? I'm pretty sure we have the same parents.
I don't recall my parents ever visiting Canada, let alone living there... unless they cloned themselves! But in all seriousness, I really want to find the right game that they can get into so gaming doesn't have to be an awkward topic with them. Thinking of either of the Portal games, Super Smash Bros., or a Legend of Zelda game to start them off, but the other times I've tried inviting them to play ANYTHING just to see that they are fun, their response was always, "No thanks, too busy." Busy from what? Loafing about or sleeping?

My dad used to play games a lot back in the last generation and before that. Since then, he's sort of lost interest.

My mum will occasionally play on the Wii but that's a very rare occurrence. My dad bought me an N64 back in 1997 and completed Zelda: OoT before I did. He also played through Goldeneye, Mario 64 and other big N64 games. Zelda remains his favourite game of all time, however.

I think my dad plays some PC hunting simulators, and my mom plays solitaire. I've always wanted to get them interested in other stuff, but sometimes I feel it would be a fruitless endeavor, so I don't even try :(

My dad has played games like FPS and TPS, but very infrequently nowadays. He occasionally has a go at whichever Grand Theft Auto game someone else is playing, and usually gets into police chases.

My mother, on the other hand, plays games regularly on the PC. She likes racing games and third person action adventure games (ranging from the earlier Tomb Raiders to Mafia and Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas) most of all, and often plays some classics on the Amiga emulator (like Lemmings!) but she also plays -- get this -- Operation Flashpoint. The first one. The open-world, tactical FPS military simulator from 2001.

I forced her to try it years ago so she could play the cooperative missions with my sister and I, and it's the first FPS she's played since she played Wolfenstein 3D and Rise of the Triad in the early 90s. To my surprise she came to really like it and has been playing it in her own time. She's not as adept at the more in-depth aspects (like squad AI control and commanding tanks) as I am, but she's a capable infantry soldier and particularly loves sniping. I think she enjoys it more than conventional first person shooters because it's slower paced and succeeding in it relies more on patience, tactics and a steady hand than on fast reflexes.

I'm currently trying to get her to try STALKER.

My mom plays a few video games: Professor Layton, Pokemon, Plants Vs Zombies, the Oddworld games and i'm gonna try to get her into Phoenix Wright, my dad on the other hand... the only video game he likes is Pandamonium, he doesn't play it constantly or anything it's just the only one he's ever played & liked.

My folks got me into games and Ma to this day loves her some Final Fantasy, Dragon Quest, and Etrian Odyssey. Especially Etrian and Sonic's a staple too.

I know Ma would love Portal as much as I do but she stubbornly clings to the idea that the DS is all she needs.
