Viva Pinata so no.
Personally, I loved Viva Pinata and it's proper sequel (that party game thing doesn't count) and I'm 18. And while I'm at Rare, I'm going to suggest Banjo Kazooie, too.

Almost everything Nintendo are famed for making - excluding perhaps the Metroid series and Twilight Princess - can be added to a kid's game list - Mario, DK, Kirby, Star Fox, FZero and so on. Speaking of Nintendo, I saw someone mention SSB earlier, so I guess that counts, too.

Also - and as has also been noted - the LEGO games are pretty kickass. Aside from the Batman one which I didn't like too much. I suppose that's because I'm not a big comic-book guy in the first place, so maybe I don't get any of the in-jokes.

No. Usually it does, but...

Legend of Zelda
Megaman
Super Mario Brothers
Super Smash Brothers
Starfox
Donkey Kong
Okami
The Lego Series
Kirby
LittleBigPlanet
Pretty much this. All of those games are rather kiddy but awesome. Besides, colors and not being mature (in either sense) does not equal being a bad game/movie/TV show/whatever.

Newsflash: kid movies, tv shows and cartoons also tend not to be very deep and fulfilling for adults.

Nintendo's entire early gaming career.

Just read a single premise of that stuff, and tell me it's not geared towards children.

"Italian Plumber stomps on turtles and eats mushrooms" "Fairy boy saves princess in magical land" "Space bounty hunter shoots aliens"?

Ahh, Jumpstart. Those games were awesome. What was your favorite? Mine was 3rd Grade.
With... uh... damn it has been a long time. The robot in that mountain lab? Yeah, where the scientist was away, and his bratty daughter was trying to send all his other robots back in time to screw things up, Terminator-style?

I never owned a copy of 4th Grade, where the whole thing is 3D, and the Witch captured all your classmates? That was actually pretty scary, especially when you had to sneak up to her house, and get up to the attic to free them one by one after you changed them back. An educational kids game was scary. This is why I loved Jumpstart.

Yes, that's the one.

Yes. I find them next to useless for entertainment value among other things. Usually a waste of money.

Unless you're 6
Super Mario World, Viva Pinata, Little BigPlanet, and Space Channel 5 would really like to see you outside, as well as the millions upon millions of 20+ year old players.

Ben 10 (when he was a kid before they tried adding emo drama to a pg storyline XD) had a very neat premise and was enjoyable.
Justice League was mature to the sense of storyline, character developement, and theme. It got a pretty kid friendly rating and was one of the few animated series on at daytime hours that actually had me give a crap about more then just Batman: The animated series (Another good child friendly show)

Simple question.

For me, I'd say usually. Most games intended for kids have next to no depth and the developers usually don't make an effort to make the game good. Not always, but mostly.
Well there is kingdom hearts its a kids game but i find it to be fun.But theres also those shows for little kids that are adapted into games.
How is Kingdom Hearts a kid's game?

On topic, though:

Kirby. It almost screams "Games for kids!!" But I will never stop playing them. They're too fun.

Other fun, kid-orientated games that come to mind:
Katamari Damacy
Animal Crossing
Quidditch World Cup
Jak and Daxter (not sure if this qualifies)
... Katamari Damacy is considered a kids game? I thought it was just a "weird" game...

I don't think Jak and Daxter should count. The Precursor Legacy leans to that orientation, but everything else in the series is definitely not so.

Also, Quidditch World Cup was fucking amazing. Definitely the best sports game ever. If you can count quidditch as a sport.

I think like pretty much any other game genre there are game at both ends of the quality spectrum. Some good games: zelda series, smash bros, mario, donkey kong, and spyro.

Look sir, before you judge all kiddie games as absolute garbage, find yourself an old PC, and hunt down the Original Lego Island. It's got fun gameplay, a very easy control interface, and Genuinely funny humor.

Imagine Portal's level of humor, Grand Theft Auto's open-world freedom, and LittleBigPlanet's charm, and you've got yourself LEGO Island.

I'm not sure what defines a kiddie game, since, what I was playing as a little kid, were games like Tekken. But, if games like Spyro, Crash Bandicoot and Yoshi count as kiddie games, then I'm definitely going to have to vote that kiddie games are not shitty.

Hooray, I'm not the only one who remembers that game! And yes, it was indeed awesome.

No. There are plenty of children's games that I used to find myself replaying including several N64 games. C'mon, who doesn't love the first Banjo-Kazooie. And the Mario Party games are a hoot.
