To be honest when my brothers were smaller at a similar looking age they wanted their nails painted as they were into any kind of dressing up girls clothes or boys,the used to steal my mums shoes or my dads ties anything they could get their hands on. can't it just be for fun?
Frankly I'm horrified. Children, having fun? Clearly this is all down to those damned liberals. No honest, god-fearing person would allow a 5 five year old to enjoy himself with his mother! Someone get that child a knife so he can go whittle wood like a proper man.
There's no such thing as the "gender confused" market. That's a bunch of walking-on-eggshell, politically correct crap that comes as a result of everyone in America having to be "special snowflakes". Well, it's only 4 letters, LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender). That covers all bases (though I'm not sure why you can't condense lesbian and gay). Edit: Oh yeah, forgot a rather important point. Gender confusion and transexuality is very, very different to sexuality. A man who wants to be a woman (or vice versa) isn't necessarily gay, which is why you have to class them seperately.

I've heard people say the same thing about a friend who had a ponytail. Remarkably thick people with no actual experience in child psychology or much of anything aside from screaming like morons who don't realize they're the biggest threat to their kids because they don't acknowledge that the children are capable of forming their own opinions.

personally, I've always had a problem with commercials that show parents interacting with their children. the way they smile all big and stupid while watching every single thing the kid does. but as for the issue in question, no. I don't see that at all.
and what about that Trident commercial where the little girl is putting makeup on her younger brother? nobody was bothered by that, were they? and that was more than just pink nailpolish.

Wow. The mere fact that there are some people that consider this "controversial" seriously speaks to the intolerance of our society. It's like anything that can be vaguely interpreted to imply support of non-traditional gender roles is aiming to "corrupt" children.

Children that young don't have much gender identification. As that kid gets older he will likely be less interested in having his nails painted and will want to play with dinosaur action figures and what-not. Or maybe he'll be girly, but so what if he is?

Kid likes pretty colors on his toenails. There's nothing wrong with that. We all had to have our parents spoon feed us at some point in life, and I'm fairly certain everyone here has sufficient hand-eye coordination to eat on their own now. He looks like he's having fun and at that age, that isn't going to impact any choices he makes later in life. [footnote] Though, personally I would have gone with purple [/footnote]
