Only if he says it's good, and that is still a definite MAYBE that I will buy it, but probably not. If a game is so good that he liked it then Iv'e probably played it already.

I agree with some of his opinions and some of them I disagree with, but I mainly watch because it's one of the few things that still make me laugh out loud every time without fail. I mean, he didn't mention some of the biggest wanky flaws with Alone in the Dark and RE5 even though he's the biggest hatchet reviewer out there, so I normally get opinions from people I know and trust, and that affects my purchases EXCEPT for Black Ops. All my friends love it, but the cartoony graphics are annoying and honestly it's like they're not even trying with the campaign anymore because the multiplayer side of COD is taking over the world. The first 3 levels are great but then it's just random shit and levels that don't flow at all... the endings just pop up out of nowhere. I'm about to watch his review of that and see if he agrees. I hope to god that MW3 has a decent campaign.

Not really no I mean he didn't like alpaha protocol but I picked it up and enjoyed it a lot, but then again I expected him to be wrong about ff13 and by the gods was he right I bought that game and it was torture to play it, and this is coming from someone who on average clock's up 50+ hours on the other FF games particularly 9,10 and 12.

I don't pay much attention to reviews in general, and I don't really consider Yahtzee to be a reviewer anyway, since reviews are supposed to be neutral and that's one thing he's most definitely not.

I watch his "reviews" because they're funny, not because they influence my decision.
Why do reviewers need to be neutral?

Do people really take him seriously? I mean, I love Zero Punctuation, but to actually buy games based on his review, youd only end up with about three, and two will be for the SNES. Also, to make your decisions based entirely on what someone else says... Let's just say INGSOC loves those kinds of sheeple. (Cookie for reference)

Yes...

I do 'read between the lines' and I expect him to rag on a game, if however he goes blitz-o-nut-o on it....I reconsider, maybe 'borrow' it one way or another first or really read up - I'd certainly wait for a while for proper word of mouth from non fan boys to filter out....

If he likes a game, yeh I'll look into it more....or if the review sounds interesting....

Take his latest one Call of Duty black ops, if I wanted an explosive shooty all out action game.....that's what it sounds like, no plot nothing serious just bad guys to blow away constantly - and TBH if you were going to buy the game, that's probably what you wanted....

So yeh I wish I'd seen his spores review before buying the game biggest hyped up rubbish I ever fell for

I have similiar taste as Yahtzee, not exactly the same but pretty close so almost everything he points out is true for me as well.

I think a lot of people are missing the point of reviews in general. If you're blindly following the writings of anyone you deserve what's coming to you, be it retribution or bad video game purchases. When Yahtzee reviewed, say, Final Fantasy XIII he said that apparently the game doesn't get any good until 20 hours in. Personally, I don't have 20 hours to wait for a game to "get good" so this put me off the purchase. However, when Fable 2 was reviewed and he put it down I agreed with most of the criticism but enjoyed the game anyway, I'm not going to take a review of the game personally. I'm pretty sure a lot of film critics would give Small Soldiers a hard time and criticise it for a lot of things but I still enjoy it. Most of what Yahtzee criticised Batman: Arkham Asylum for was correct yet I still bought and enjoyed the game, likewise with Red Dead Redemption- I believe he called it "a well-written and immersive time sink" which, at the time, is exactly what I wanted. Being able to read between the lines on these things is important and accepting that what one person hates may be what you love is a much quicker way to finding games that YOU enjoy rather than beating on someone for having an opinion. Again, just an opinion.

HE DOESN'T TAKE THE MULTIPLAYER PART OF A GAME IN TO CONSIDERATION
but why should he states that it's the reason he doesn't is because he plays games with the mind set of a person that doesnt want to play multi player
i got MW 1 and i hate multi player just because im not in to playing on servers with the "OMG YOO YOOS DA NOOOBTOOBES, WTF LAZT ZTAND FARGOT, DUDE NO NADES" and they are on every fucking server what makes them worse is the fact that they are the same ones that think using chopers air strikes and all that good shit are pro

No...

An unanimated cartoon doesn't tell me nearly as much about the game as actual footage, I like Gametrailers for that. I see for myself, listen to what is said, and then disregard the final score...unless it's really low.

I've been playing games for long enough that I can pretty much tell what is good and what isn't by watching a couple of minutes of in-game footage.

It depends. IF he raves on a game real hard, like he did with Black ops ysterday. I do stop to rethink when I see it at the shelves. But usualy? Nah. He dont affect me.
