This is mainly based on anime, but can apply to other shows as well. But do you prefer the original voices with English subtitles, or do you like the engish voice actors better? I don't really mind which one, I'll usually watch Lucky Star dubbed, but I watch Rosario + Vampire with subtitles.

Subtitles are ok, but I prefer not having to read and miss some of the action.

Hellsing and fma loved the dubbed

Naruto, I dispised the dub. "Believe it" If i hear that voice one more time I will have to pull off my ears

Subs over dubbing anytime.

I firmly began to be against dubbing the first time I heard Arnold Schwarzenegger 'speak' spanish in perfect Madridian accent during a holiday when the 'True Lies' was hot stuff.

It was atrocious.

So, subtitles. Besides, having shows in original languages allows you to get far more nuances out of it with some understanding of the language.

I don't really know what either is. Can someone help me here?
Animes that are dubbed as in replaced with English voices, or subbed as in subtitled.
I prefer dubbed if it is good, but when done bad I'll watch a subtitled one. So far, I like the dubbed version of Bleach.

Subs. I prefer to hear the anime in it's native language. If someone can dub it pretty well though, I'll watch it.

Subbed. I can't stand when they put really bad voice actors in place of the regular one's. America usually ends up changing the dialog too. I'd much prefer to read it than to listen to some crappy voice acting on Bleach or Gantz.

The only time I like dubs are when its in campy Japanese Monster movies. Then, its just funny.

Some dubs are okay, and others suck, so it really depends on the anime. I always go for subtitled with foreign films, though.

Subs usually, because for some reason, Japanese voice actors seem more willing to be 'out there' and enthusiastic, which (especially in a comedy's sake) helps a lot to balance with the silly animations.

Subbed, since 99%* of dubs are beyond awful**.

*studio ghibli stuff being about the only exception

**i've noticed a definite area bias to this:
most dubbed anime is done by American actors, which is fine for America as you only have Japanese culture + English language overlaid.

For other countries you get the added overlay of a foreign accent on top of a foreign language/culture, which just doubles the weirdness.
Once you get to this level i just prefer the subs, as you end up reading the words for the content, and listening to the voices for the tone of voice and so on (which is usually butchered in dubs)
