I don't really care either way. There are other kinds of music i hate more, and i'm actually only really annoyed when it comes to Dubstep Cover Songs...and i probably like some songs, although i can't come up with examples.

Actually, it feels liberating not having to jump on a popular hate-train for once.

There's only so much WHOOOOOO WHOOOOO WAAOHOHHHH I can handle, I was at a dubstep night at Fabric and I couldn't tell which songs were playing because all dubstep tracks are made in the same way;

30 seconds of metronome for the DJ to mix one track into the next
WHOOOHHHOOHWHWWHOWWOOHHOOOOOOO for 7 minutes
Rounding off with 30 seconds of Metronome for mixing purposes.

still, its better than Flo Rida.

I consider it music in the same way it's music for a child to randomly bang pots and pants with a spoon; fairly well void of any skill and equally as shallow.

But we all see and interact with art differently. *shrug*

As a whole, meh. There's a few songs I like here and there, but it makes up a very small minority of my music list.

Dubstep ? As long as we're talking about "song" - i'm perfectly fine with that.
Too bad plenty of Dubstep "artists" can't create anything better than badly stitched samples with DROP DA BASS all over it. :\

I like it. Back when I was in highschool I was a typical I wannabe alternative kid. I listened to blink 182, sum 41 and linkinpark.(luckily my dad taught me the classics at the same time so I can claim to have great taste now without turning red). I liked alot of music but really didn't like hiphop and RnB (though i've learned to appreciate some of it now). However RnB and hiphop were so mainstream at the time, that I disliked almost all party music and music on the radio. Mostly because the music didn't pack punch.

Because the music didn't really pack a punch, the hip hop fans steered clear of everything that sounded a bit more like it did. Now Dubstep seems to sort of bring the two sounds together. If this is what's mainstream now, it means some harder rock can be appreciated more because Dubstep is lessening the gap.

I have no particular feelings towards it. I wouldn't seek it out but it hasn't bothered me hugely the few times I have had to listen to it. It would probably piss me off if I had to listen to it too often though. It's a shallow and transparent type of music.

I like the Miracle of Sound "Big Ten", which is half dubstep, it isn't on this website as it is not about a video game;

But a lot of dubstep is just not good, if the song has more than dubstep and if the dubstep fits with the song then it is good. I have heard many Pop songs that just give a random dubstep bit out of nowhere, that sucks.

My eldest daughter loves dubstep.

Although it made me show my age.

She was listening to it the other day and I shouted up for her to stop playing the same song it was annoying and she said she was on the third album.

Personally I think it sounds shit.

Sounds slow and generally dull to me, I'm more of a heavy/death metal fan, I just don't see how people can like dubstep really...

You know, back in my day people I didn't like had the good decency to like awful music, like Brittany Spears, or the Spice girls! It's a pretty dismal state of affairs when terrible music is so bad that even terrible people have to listen to something else!

Honestly, not a fan. I don't think it's awful, though. I mean, if I was driving and there was dubstep playing, I probably wouldn't try and find something else on the radio. Not too keen on the way some people feel the need to spam me with nonsense like "BeSt dUbStEp - (some youtube link)", though...

a lot of it is kinda shitty, but some of it is legitimately good. Music that properly incorporates Dubstep into the music, rather than just inserting generic dubstep music, can be pretty good. I'm trying to remember the band I heard recently that had some songs with dubstep in them i actually liked,

I love dubstep. I used to hate it, I could never get into the rhythm of all the fast sounds. But now, however, it's fucking awesome, all the aggressive and fast-moving rhythms get me going. I think its an acquired taste and once you get into it you like it, but if you don't then you won't get any enjoyment out of it whatsoever. It's obviously not a deep genre of music, that's not the point of it. You don't have to listen to 'deep' music all the time. I very much enjoy a lot of music that I think would be considered deep.
