Duke Nukem. Though he might try to hit on me or something given what kind of character he is.. <.<
And could you honestly say you'd be able to resist his manly charms? -^
I dunno. I'd want some insurance policy if it came to that. AKA, a better gun then he has, so he doesn't try to pull a fast one on me. ;P
Why would The Duke hit you? From what I know as canon, Duke's only reason for fighting to save Earth is that so those scum-sucking aliens can't vaporise all the sexy, sexy ladies that inhabit it. Plus, what could you possibly do to bring his ire upon you? His manly aura of manliness pretty much forces all women to fawn over his manly manliness and submit to his machoistic attitude (which, as we all know, has a heart of gold when it comes to chicks fawning over his manly manliness). All in all, I'm pretty sure you're safe, Miss Aylaine.

Ok, I just have to point out a few things here.
#1. It's xenophobe, not speciest. If you read anything within Warhammer 40K,
ever you should know that, because it's about every second line in anything about the Imperium, which is about 90% of the litterature because most of it is written from the viewpoint of how the Imperium records everything.
#2. Even just Space Marines have been compitent enough to hold back the tides of Tyranid invasions. Ultramarines are obviously the standard for this, being the first recruitment world to be attacked, but the Blood Ravens have done so as well. As much as people like to whine about it, Dawn of War is canon and the Blood Ravens are an official chapter. At the beginning of the novelization, a single squad of Tactical Marines with standard loadout defeated a Carnifex. For those unaware of what a Carnifex is within the 40K universe, think of it as the Tyranid's solution to armoured vehicles, in that it's about twice the size as one and eats them! To make matters even more amazing, the Carnifex had a bio-plasma cannon loadout, which effectively meant one shot, one kill for any Space Marine unlucky enough to get hit. So how narrowly did the Space Marines escape? Just about six to seven Marines were done in by the beast and that was after trudging through a day's jog through dense jungle terrain infested with Tyranid (in which two other Marines died). All in all, it's pretty much canon that a Tactical Squad can take a small invasion force of Tyranid. Just syaing...
#3. The Arch-Arsonist would like to have a word with you about Tyranids being the best xenos around. The Orks have been waging a continuous war against the Tyranid that has been in a stale mate for centuries over one planet. This is a single WAAAGH! versus an entire hive fleet. Put into perspective, the Tyranid only have two and a half functional hive fleets in the Milky Way right now, and one of them is occupied by the Orks entirely. That's on top of all the other WAAAGH! currently ransacking the galaxy, doing bat-shit crazy things like Gazghkull Thraka using the ground forces of his WAAAGH! (armoured division and foot troops) to take down an Imperial Titan. Yes, with only using tanks and a crap load of expendable shock troops, a Warboss felled an Imperial Titan!
Furthermore you have the C'tan marching their forces of undeath within the universe. The Imperium doesn't even know how the exoskeletons of the Necron even work, much less how to permanently destroy them. If it wasn't for the fact that the Necron are really only concerned with keeping the territories they have until they can repower their units, the Imperium would be in much deeper waters than they are now.
All in all, Tyranid are chump change compared to some of the other threats within the universe at this point, mostly because humanity has figured out ways to kill them. Now, if more hive fleets were to show up, maybe they'd be a higher threat priority.

As for the question? I'd go with Master Chief. While I do prefer Duke as a character, he's no Spartan. Plain and simple, Master Chief would be far more effective at his job, considering you can only pick that one person. Duke has the Earth Defense forces stopping waves upon waves of aliens from being able to foucs their efforts solely on him, while most large assaults are led by Master Chief himself so he takes a good brunt of the Covenant forces himself.
Sorry Duke, maybe next time!
