I'm sure everyone here has used the forum's edit post function at some point or another, but how often do you do so?

I used to only use it to fix errors in my posts, such as spelling, but now I find myself using it more and more frequently just to add afterthoughts to what I posted not 5 seconds before.

I'm sure I can't be the only person who does this, so I ask you, how often do you edit your posts?

If I've buggered up something, or if I post and then see some spelluing/grammer mistakes, etc, then I'll change it. If I drastically change the post, I'll generally lave a notice at the bottom.

Often.
I often post and then see a mistake with my spelling, grammar or my line of argument and have to change it so it has been corrected.

Except maybe this post here, now.

Usually for spelling mistakes which I may notice. Sometimes I will post something and then a minuet later I will have some more thoughts so I will edit them in. Sometimes, but not oftern, I sort of regretted what I wrote and edited it out and put something completely different.

Only when I've made obvious errors, or when I've forgotten an integral thought or justification, which, if it wasn't there, could lead to the post being misinterpreted.

Only mistakes, or if I just thought of something and don't want to double post.

I don't do it very often. Though sometimes I'll post my opinion, and read a few more pages of other people's post, then wish to add something.

On atleast half of my posts, like if I thought of something after it, or i am sick of getting quoted 20 times for one thing that I said...

I rarely do it for spelling errors, I make too much to go over every single post.

Sometimes. After I post something sometimes I'm afraid that it could be seen as a bit of trolling, so my edit is most of the time a bit of a disclaimer.

I edit a fair amount, normally I won't say I have because it's just correcting small things like spelling, though if the point the post was trying to make changes i'll put an EDIT their to point that out.

I do it a lot, usually because I think of something better to type after I've already posted it.

If anyone remembers the Cross Days anti-pirate DRM thread from a month or so back, I made a post that I went back and completely changed three separate times in about 2 minutes because I didn't like what I had put.

A perfect example would be this paragraph right now. I only just thought of putting the fact that I usually only read my posts after I've posted it into this post, after I already posted the above two paragraphs. This ones an edit.

If I notice a mistake, I'll edit it.
I'll also edit in quotes from other posts if I've already posted and then notice the post I want to quote. I have a habit of posting, then reading other posts.

If you could follow that, well done.

I am an edit-addict. I edit almost all my posts for afterthoughts and stuff I simply forgot to put in the original post. I should probably cut down on my editing, but it is so very handy.

Edit: This edit is here purely because I feel it belongs here...
