Envision Physiotherapy:
http://www.envisionphysio.com/
It's a physiotherapy place in Vancouver, BC, Canada.

It could just be me, but that 'e' looks suspiciously identical to the escapist's 'e'

I'm pretty sure there was a thread about this a while ago.

OT, it depends on which came first

What are you talking about? That e and the Escapist e are completely different. They're e's 'cross' isn't as slanted as the Escapist's.

That would be The Escapist.

First weekly issue of The Escapist [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/articles/view/issues/issue_1/2-Games-in-Comparison]: July 2005.
Envision Physio founded [http://envisionphysio.com/blog/category/about-us/]: July 2006.

As for whether or not it constitutes any kind of copyright issue... I'm not a lawyer, but they're remarkably similar.

Before we begin arguing, is it possible that the Escapist E is a Font type?

If not, then I say we burn the other place to the Ground, if it is then we burn it anyways but keep the fire more controlled

It's the same font, doesn't really constitute stealing unless you want to call the PS3 logo a Spiderman ripoff.

added for relevance

Perhaps, I could understand like an elaborate mascot being ripped off but just one letter just doesn't seem to serious. Last I checked you can't copyright a letter.

It's just a very fancy E. The Escapist doesn't own fancy writing or the letter E.

Heh, I want to say no but they do look alot alike. Even down to the little indent at the bottom of the 'e's....

Looks like someone in Vancouver will be out of a job ¬_¬

That's just stealing XD granted E is a common letter....
The most common letter if you want to get technical about it, and I obviously do for attention's sake.

Yeah, you need at least four in a row. Like "Edge".

I don't know about this, as others have said, it could be a font. If so, then no harm, no foul. If not, and that physical therapy company stole the logo of this gaming website, then I agree with the burning it to the ground proposal.

My limited knowledge of this stuff tells me that it comes under Trademarking, rather than copyright as a logo doesn't count as intellectual Property. My limited knowledge also tells me that, unless it is radically stylised, you can't put a trademark on a letter.

You can if its specific symbol for your product. Like the windows logo or the apple logo.
