I don't know if its me or what, but i can't stand Facebook anymore, is it the fact that all your family members are friends and when you make a funny comment or something and your talking with your buds on Facebook when all of a sudden your parents join in and ruin everything? Have you ever had something like that happen? or how Facebook changes its look every 6 months or is it the Facebook games and the massive spam of invites and crap that people send you constantly forcing you to block everything.

See the thing is im on the verge of completely deleting everything off my profile then deactivating it. But i don't know if i will or not because there is at least 10 people i want to stay in contact with, but Facebook keeps shoveling crap in my face, what should i do?

do you dislike Facebook? if so then why?

I never used facebook. The people I want to keep in touch with? I do that with the phone/email/IM/real life options. I never understood the need to put your life online. Not that I'm saying it's stupid, just that I don't get it.
yeah, I never wanted to use it, but my sisters harassed to again and again to use it. But I understand what you mean.

I look in on it every now and agan but I never stay long and hate every moment I'm there. I only check for necessary information I need.

Edit: Just realised how redundant the above sentence, on top of this one vertically, is.

I use it, and I've found a way to circumvent the family problem: don't add them.

It's okay, but Facebook could be better.

Don't use it. Account was disabled. Don't wanna talk about it.

[sub]So much... hate mail... eeehhhh...[/sub]

And, ehh, I think you should either keep it or find other means of contact for your friends.

This is why you don't add your family on Facebook. Social and family lives should be kept separate for this very reason.

The first page I go to everyday is Facebook.
It is a fantastic way to keep into contact with people and set up things with friends. I love it.

Just dont add your family then. That's all I can suggest. I don't mind facebook, it's not like people constantly try to talk to me.

You don't use facebook like you use a forum.

Want to say stupid things and talk about sick stuff without your family there to see it, say that here.

Want to keep in touch with a friend from a long time ago, use facebook.

Simple.

I only really use Facebook to plan events, group projects, and drunken status updates once in a blue moon.

It's very convenient to talk with your group or plan events. Just recently, I have a group for a class and we have to do a project together. We decided we would use Facebook, but of course there's the one guy who said, "I hate Facebook". We made him an account, but he hasn't logged on once since and a deadline is approaching. So I'll have to track him down in class on the day it's due since he "hates Facebook". Thanks a lot, guy!

Then there's the friends that don't have it, and are hardly on MSN. So you want to plan a party. You make a Facebook event, invite people, talk about it. Then it comes and goes. Two weeks later, you see the friend and he says, "Oh, you went to so-and-so? Why didn't I hear about it?"

Why not just make a damn Facebook account? It's not hard. It's convenient for events and groups. You'll get email notifications if something happens, so you don't even have to log on everyday. You don't have to post on other people's posts. You don't have to put personal info up. You can even turn off email notifications for whatever you don't want to. Just use it as an event planner.

Just something that's been bugging me. I wanted to post a topic about "Why do some people hate Facebook?", but you beat me to the punch.

But yeah, it was may family who got me on it in the first place, if i delete them off of my friends list they get all pissed at me like i hate them or something and make me re add them......

Considering I was up until 1:30 this morning talking to someone on Facebook, yeah, I still use it.

It's the only way I can talk to certain people.

Oh boy that would be last thing i do, i don't like face book and would rather not use it, the only reason i do is because of certain people that i would not have contact with any other way.

You can block certain friends(Your family) from seeing your updates and posts, while not deleting them off your friends list.

I don't see why people think facebook is bad. You can block the spam crap in about 4 seconds, and it's really easy to get in touch with and talk to friends.

I've never had one, and I never will. The only people I would befriend are the people I talk to every day anyway.

I refuse to pretend to be friends with people just to be a part of the social networking craze.

I can't stand those people that add the people that nodded to them while they were walking down the hall in highschool 6 years ago. They're not your friends. You're not cool because you have 200+ friends on Facebook, with only 6 of them being your real friends.
