Poll: Facial hair?

I alternate back an forth between facial hair and not. It's not really a matter of preference on my part. It grows until I overcome my laziness to shave...it never takes.

Pretty much this. Shaving sucks. Although right now its itchy as hell so I will be shaving.

I've been bearded since... 16, I think. I've tried to be clean-shaven a couple of times, but my hair just grows too fast for it to be practical, so I just keep it trimmed to a neatish shape.

Viz the girls'-opinion-of-facial-hair thing, it obviously varies. If it's hiding a double-chin, obviously it's not terribly impressive. I've never had a straight-out refusal on account of my facial hair, but various girlfriends have displayed different levels of keen-ness.

Viz the itching thing that everyone complains about, that takes a small amount of time to go away, and you can alleviate most of it just by washing your beard when you wash your hair.

I have the amazing ability to grow a decent sized beard in a week. I'm normally clean shaven though but at the moment I don't have the time to shave everyday so I let it grow full for about a week then shave it all off again.
Personally though I like it with a bit of stubble but it's too hard to maintain, I need to really find a good electric shaver.

I usually let it grow for a few months at a time which ends up as a goatee and cheeks beards connecting it to my side burns. Recently however I've been shaving more often just to see whats it's like as everyone says that the beard makes me look too old.

A friend of mine has a goatee/'tache thing going on, and thought it's not the only thing about him, I think he's the sexiest man for a hundred miles at least.

I stay clean shaven.

In only a week I look like an average person who hasn't shaved in a month. In two weeks it feels like I've got sandpaper glued to my face. It's all about preference I guess.

...You lucky basterd. It takes about two days for me to get that effect. Two goddamn day! And I look like some kind of bum. According to my friends atleast, when I haven't shaven for 2-3 days...

Consider yourself lucky. Its what I do. Its been 4 days since I last shaved and my hair is dark so it looks like I already am starting to get the facial hair back. I feel like sandpaper is on my face right now.

OT: However, I am fond of it. It looks good on me. To prove this, i've asked girls that don't like facial hair if I look better with or without it. I look good at the "not shaved for two weeks" stage, but I look bad at the "not shaved for two months" stage and I look worse at the "just shaved" stage.

So yeah, facial hair. Looks good, and if you're doing it to impress women, then you're doing it wrong.

I've been wearing a Van Dyke (goatee + moustache) for ~8years now, or since I was about 17. I have no idea what I'd look like without it, but I'm not eager to find out.

Facial hair is polarizing among women. A certain kind of person will write you off at step one, another will act like it's practically a prerequisite for smexiness. Some people have come right out and admitted that mine makes me seem somewhat intimidating. OTOH, if I shaved it off, I'm pretty sure my GF wouldn't touch me until it grew back.

Personally I have one golden rule: what's on the chin is above the lip. Moustaches are great. Beards are great. Being clean-shaven is fine. But I dislike mixing and matching. The 'stache without an accompanying beard makes you look like a state trooper, and the beard without a moustache generally just looks strange to me. Do both or neither IMHO.

I really need a shave right now, it's getting a bit thick. Generally, I don't like being clean shaven, it just looks silly on me, but I don't like having too thick a beard or mustache either. I happen to look rather dashing with a short one though, or stubble, though I also have to weigh that up against whether or nor a girl is going to be annoyed at a rough chin when kissing me. Though sadly that doesn't tend to be much of a necessary concern for me

I have a full beard my man, but then again my excuse is because we're all commando lumberjack hunters that take on wild game with our bare hands. We watch those sneaky meese, trying to sneak over and eat our grass. I see what they're doing.

Currently I'm sporting a somewhat neat goatee without the mustache. It took me a while to grow so I'm scared of shaving it off and having to wait ages for the bugger to grow back. I'd have a mustache too if it grew right and actually suited me. Suppose any advice is to grow a full beard and trim the bits away that don't suit you, it worked for me.

Have had stubble for years. Feels weird to be without it. Why do I have this? Because it feels manly. There, I said it, and it's true, even if I probably wouldn't admit it if someone asked me face to face.

I'm going for full beard. My girlfriend very much approves. I'm also getting a pipe and a hat. Life is good.

My facial hair still grows pretty slowly, and it isn't fully developed yet, so I keep it stubbed(I'm sure that's not the right word). Going smooth is just an annoyance.
Had a failed goatee before. Gonna save for up for it again soon!
