Fallout Tactics is great! (especially on tough guy mode) You can get a squad up to six ppl, cars, tanks, no time limit, no waiting around to get into fights, better graphics, more items, much better interface, online multiplayer mode and not only do you get to recruit humans, but ghouls, super mutants and even deathclaws. plus theres a whole lot more random encounters.

fallout 3 is all together a completely diffrent game. they tried somthing new and brought the game to a diffrent level. although they should have added the birds eye view so it would be more like the classic ones i think the did a great job.

I didn't really enjoy 1 or 2. As for Tactics, all I know is the Micro Forte is literally down the hall from where my classroom is.

And no I'm not one of the new generation that only likes Fallout 3, I didn't really enjoy that either.

Fallout 2: The game where every single encounter could be your death. I wasn't that much of a fan of that but it's also the game where you can do pretty much what you want roleplaying wise.

I was too weak to beat the slavers one on one so I talked my way into the premises, locked the rest of the guards out, seduced their leader, murdered him on the spot, and sniped several waves of guards from the window in their former employer's bedroom.

But of course you could also join the slavers, sell your party members to the slavers, bribe them... just about anything. And that was back in 1998. I wish I would have been able to play it back then.

The combat is always awful, it goes from awful constantly dying to one shotting virtually everything except when they get a critical hit on you which one shots you.

I like all three, but it order of preference I would rank them as:
Fallout 2 - just a great and immersive RPG experience. Utterly epic.
Fallout Tactics - much maligned but (I think) pretty damn sturdy strategy adventure. Fallout meets U.F.O - how can that be a bad thing?
Fallout 1 - still a great RPG, but the time limit kinda screwed with my enjoyment of it.
