It's a little hard for me to vote, since I just tweaked the difficulty setting until the random encounters ceased annoying me. I thought games were supposed to be entertaining, not necessarily difficult.

Although the amount of cussing I did at Prince of Persia: Two Thrones sure entertained my housemate, so maybe difficulty is for secondary entertainment purposes.

However, usually if I'm seeking frustration I just go argue politics with whatever nimrods happen to be available.
Some like it challenging, some like it laid back...
and some like to put bal- nvm

Well, due to my other post some of you may know I'm a fan of this game, but aside from that I think the difficulty is just about right, as in the the setting describes difficulty.

I see its apperant that the person who made the post probably didn't like the game so I see no reason to argue over it.

P.S. I sometimes enjoy handicpping myself, fast travel sometimes draws me out of the game.

I know tons of people that think I Wanna Be the Guy is a very, very hard game. Does that mean they're wrong because they don't like it?

By level 5 you have everything you ever need to take over D.C. - of course it's too easy.
That really is the case, too. You can debate back and forth about whether a game should be challenging, or not. But I can't imagine any gamer saying this game is difficult.

I wasn't saying you were wrong for saying it was easy, but why must we try to convince you that we can make it harder ?

P.S. I believe it can be made harder by many means.

With some games, I find it useless to play it at a higher difficulty level than 'normal'. Sometimes, fights in the games aren't harder, they're just longer and more anoying. Take Oblivion for example (which I absolutely love to bits, by the way). I never bothered shifting up the difficulty level after I tried it for a while once.

The fights were not more challenging; they were just unfair. I had problems defeating a rat at one time. =/ It didn't feel right. The fights were just 'Slash, block, slash' repeat or 'Cast spell, dodge/run, cast spell'. The harder the difficulty, the longer I had to repeat it to beat my oppponent. It felt like a complete waste of time.

The game starts off fairly tough (I played on hard) due to the lack of ammo/stimpacks, but once you get to a certain point you have plenty of everything and only bad luck kills you. for instance I was wandering around the wasteland and heard a russle behind me, turned round and there's a Yau Goi(spelling?) about six inches from my face. As I'm fighting him two more jump in and then another...a whole load of stimpacks and assualt rifle clips later and I've killed six of the buggers in a row. That was intense, but once I discovered the Dart gun the game became rather pathetic, for those who don't know it cripples your enemies legs. Now I kill deathclaws with a pistol just for a laugh. Having said that the secuirty bots, the ones that have a minigun AND a missile launcher, scare the bejesus out of me everytime I see them.

I would've liked for it to be a bit harder, the hardest difficulty was fine though. You see unlike so many others I want my games to challenge me. I jump straight for the throat of the hardest difficulty. Side note to games that lock the hardest difficulty until you've beaten the second hardest, I hate you! I don't care if this means that it takes me months to finish the game; all that means is I'm getting more for my money right? Just as a social experiment next time you're out and about if you see someone bragging about how awesome they are because they already beat *insert recent release* go and ask them what difficulty. They go SILENT, usually at least.

Couldn't this have gone in the official topic?
The orignal poster wanted to talk about one thing not everything, so it's in the right spot as far as I can see.
Anyway It is a option to turn the level from normal to hard.

Id say it was a bit too easy, but when I stop using vats and use melee combat (with my extremely low skills in unarmed and melee weapons) it gets to a fun mixture of fearing death and still beating the hell out of some irradiated ant or mole. Well...that and when I get steamrolled downtown by 10 SMs at once, that becomes fun quick.

No game ever undersold for being too easy. Some games have suffered for being too hard. That being said, there are a bunch of mods out there that remove parts of the games functionality that effectively make this game much harder.

At the start, really hard as you scrounge and scrimp for supplies. By about level 6 you're pretty much set and you've got a good amount of resources to go forth.

The only difficulty I have in combat is when you get a group of about 5 super-mutants all coming at you at once. One on one it's no contest.

Deathclaws provide a challenge no matter how many there are

I thought the difficulty was fair until I got the scoped .44 magnum and the Sniper perk.

Everything died instantly.

Funny.

I've been playing the game on Very Hard since the beginning, and the only time I find it easy is when I'm fighting against mole rats and radroaches. The rest of the time I'm taking obscene amounts of damage, even with my fully repaired combat armor and the toughness perk. I rarely ever have more than ten stimpaks, and very often I find myself rationing them excessively, preferring to drink irradiated water or eat irradiated food as opposed to using those ever-so-precious stimpaks, and then there are times where I run out of both and end up having to abuse VATS to avoid taking any damage. Oh, and managing the condition of my weapons and armor has been quite distracting, to say the least.

Granted, I tend to wander around alot, and I've been fighting lots of Super Mutants and Talon Mercenaries at level 8-9, so that might have a bit to do with it. That said, I just can't agree with anyone who says it's too easy. Maybe you're just not exploring enough, I don't know...

There are some really cheap ways to play the game. I tried to make my game even easier by collecting all the bobbleheads before doing any of the quests. However I am now level 14 without having done a single quest and I still have about 8 more to collect. So much for making my early levels really easy.
