Then I pity you, for there is some truly great fanfiction out there. Unfortunately, the one I'm thinking of was taken down because the person forgot to say that he didn't come up with the premise and some dipshit reported him for plagiarizing.GreatTeacherCAW said:I hate it with a passion. When I choose to watch a movie, read a book, or any other kind of non-fan-created media I can be pretty certain that it isn't going to be completely messed up without me knowing about it. This is simply because there are reviews, and word of mouth etc. that get spread around before viewing. Since anyone can create fan-fiction very easily and there is so much of it, you really never know what you are going to see before you view it.MelasZepheos said:This is a real problem for fanfiction. The only fanfic that ever gets recommended to people is the 'hilariously' awful or utterly degenerate stuff, so people read that and assume that the millions of stories are all like that.lunncal said:The only fan-fiction I have read is Cupcakes, and basically my opinion is "NEVER AGAIN".
It's akin to saying you won't watch any western movies because you saw 2 Girls 1 Cup, or you won't read any western literature because you read Twilight. The worst of the worst is not even close to representative of the whole.
Best. Description. EVER!Sentox6 said:FanFiction is like a diamond mine, except that the dirt is actually faeces.
This, except replace hate, with something that best describes wanting to take any and every fan fiction writer and gas them...GreatTeacherCAW said:I hate it with a passion. I have yet to come across anything that is written above a 3rd grade level.
