Resident Evil > Left4Dead

Dawn of the Dead > 28 Days Later

(Although both races are close)

Mainly because fast zombies are too scary though :)

Im gonna say slow zombies simply because surviving on the move is obvioulsy easier. In the end it probably wont matter though. You dont need cavalry to hold a castle under seige after all. Once your walls fall you certainly wont care how fast they leave after they finish eating you.

with slow zombies there's no tension, its like shooting fish in a barrel. With fast zombies, it's much more understandable to see how someone could get infected

Slow zombies are not only boring, they are non-threatening.

How do you escape a massive horde of slow zombies? Walk at a brisk pace, or ride a bike. Ever seen the original Dawn of the Dead from the 70's? At one point they enter the mall, filled with zombies and they just run around them like they were pylons.

I never got how the slow zombies managed to "infect" the world. Its so easy to kill them or escape from them that it shouldn't have even been a challenge for any decently organized force.

Fast Zombies are at least scary in the "omg we have to run out asses off or we are zombie food" kinda way, ala "Rage Virus" or Dawn of the Dead remake, and CERTAINLY more threatening.
like what this guy said

i think that zombies shouldn't be faster than they were when they were alive. I think they should be about the same as they were when they died ( just a hell of a lot stronger).

Yeah, but there would be so many you're going to run out of bullets eventually and they never sleep! While you're resting they keep following. You can't run forever.

Fast zombies are definetly more of a threat... but I find the slow ones much more creepy for some reason...

well im gunna answer this by looking at games as i care more about zombie games than movies. you have for runners left 4 dead and for slow u have resident evil 5. i prefer left 4 dead and so go with running zombies. with resident evil because zombies are slow u are made so u cant move when u are aiming and it ennoys me so much i hate it.
honestly people who have played both which do you prefer?

anyway with movies i dont mind alot but if they cant run it means to make it even ur unlikely to have a gun (or more than 1 rubbish one) but im not picky movie wise.

(yes i am aware left 4 dead is infected not twchnically a zombie but they're bloody similar lol)

giant groups of fast, weak zombies.

Solitary, slow, powerful, deadly zombies.

I like both.

Variety rules.

Actually, zombies are caused by a virus. But anyway i like slow zombies mainly because they're easier to kill and the zombie survival guide won't be a complete piece of horse shit. :p

Fast zombies are scarier...

But slower zombies offer killfests that are way fun.

A difficult decision indeed.

I think slow is scarier if there are TONS of them. I mean like a football stadium full coming after a couple people.

Unfortunately slow zombies dont make for much fun in vidya games.

Fast zombies they offer a real challenge.

With the slow ones you can have a picnic in the midle of the street and you could survive.

I love George A Romero's Dead series, but if I played Left 4 Dead and all the zombies were slow, there'd be no point in shooting most of them. So maybe fast zombies for games, slow zombies for movies? But there have been some good fast zombie movies, like 28 Days Later, and Charlie Brooker's Dead Set. Meh, I dunno, they're both good in their own ways, if done well. And it's not 28 Weeks Later.

Zombies aren't zombies if they can think, run or use weapons of any kind. Other than a chainsaw duct-taped to their hands.

I use the Zombie Survival Guide as a... guide when it comes to what a zombie is or isn't. That book is brilliant, and made zombies seem almost real.
Zombies are also more scary when slow. Yeah, a fast zombie can kill you faster, but the psychological terror of a vast shambling horde is so much more terrifying.
But that's just me.
i dunno i mean imagine a horde of sprinting zombie's coming over the distant hill skreaming there heads off i mean that would be more scary than a hord outside your house that are slow and lumbering around if i could choose though i would go 4 the slow 1s
