Bretons, but Bretons are a lot more like the English then the French. The pictures shown in the Oblivion handbook of it showed what looked to be essentially England, and look at the name of the race.

Altmer for me.

I like my magic, and they're one of the only races that can practically use the higher-leveled spells. Plus, the ring you get for that grave-robbing quest at later levels pretty much renders the fire/frost weakness voided. And on top of that, I just LOOOOOVE elves.

But a close second are the Khajiit.

Mine would have to be the Breton. They are able warriors with plenty of magika, with no real class impairments (Like the High Elves weakness to fire). Overall, if I'm creating a 'Jack of all trades' character I usually choose the Breton.

Khajiit, first off (NO I am not a furry) I like their accent, and second Thief is the easiest class for me to play, always liked Cloak & Dagger playing style plus they're race specific see you in the street saying things IMO are the best

I do like the Dunmer a fair bit, I guess they just look evil.

Did the fellow dunmer at the start threaten to rape your wife?
I believe that he was actually calling her a slag whom he'd happily comfort once she found out about your demise... From him, of course. On the one hand, the Brotherhood mission to kill him was quite difficult, on the other hand, Gods was it worth it.

I voted Nord. They're the fastest on account of their height, Nordic Forst can get you through some of the arena fights at early levels, the Bruma house is wasily my favourite in the game and the frost resistence is a godsend against some undead and frost astronarches (Spelling?). I tend to play mundane stealth characters, but my Bosmer was just too damn short for me to take seriously.

I like Breton, they're basically the awesome middle ground, being good enough at magic without being too bad at combat and without being an elf, Actually when it comes to elder scrolls I supose I'm a bit racist...

Argonians, with Dark Elves following closely behind. Unfortunately, the Dark Elves in Oblivion became pretentious faggots, while the Morrowind Dark Elves gave off an aura of being far more bad arse, especially with voice acting.

I am liking the Nords at the moment, because

a) they drink like us us Irish

b) I am boring and like to tank

c) I like Bruma
Hooray! someone i can relate to on all 3 fronts! XD

but i completely agree, nords are the best, their just so awesome! =D
my nord just goes about killing evil people and stealing their stuff... he also likes to steal EVERYONES garden that has any ingredients in it, as he is a master alchemist on the side because noble murder and looting doesnt pay the bills as much as it used to =P

I'd say that if I had to pick, it would be Nord, probably because I too am tall, large, pale, and belligerent. However, I don't really have a tendency when choosing races. I've played Argonian, High Elf, Wood Elf, and Redgaurd characters, too, though I did make one Nord character who had my name and looked just like me in Oblivion.

For me it was always the Nord race, because nothings better than living up to my Scandanavian ancestry than playing as a tall, bearded, axe-wielding brute in a videogame of course. A close second would have to be Dunmer, because they're isolationist and make for bad-ass mages.

Imperial as number one, Dont know why, easy to realate to and a easy race.. And come on the imperial has proven themself as the master of all the races according to the lore... (you are now part of our bureaucracy!) (or all your base are belong to us!)

Redguard comes in second.. allways nice to be able to fight and still be human..

I always go with the argonian

1. I can save money on cure desease potions

2. When creating the face, you realy can't go wrong with a lizard man.
