Poll: Favorite generic weapon

Sniper rifle. If I'm denied one of my loved exotic weapons, I at least want to avoid close combat.

I adore pistols, you can't go wrong when you're hammering the trigger until the other guy falls down...

Shotguns. The sheer power to tear a persons meat from their bones at close range is too enticing for me to ignore. I love getting up in your face.

I also like pistols because I am actually a good shot in real life with them...

The classic devil may cry combo of swords and guns. Execpt with one difference, I like the guns to be effective, rather than the ones from Devil may cry. God they are weak.

You gotta admit though, the first time you popped an enemy in the air and kept him there with gunfire from your dual fisted heat was glorious. The first time in any game that you really, truly felt like a badass from the Matrix (before it turned all philosophical).

There are a fair ammount of games that DON'T feature a flamethrower, which makes it non-generic.

My favorite is the assault rifle.

I may pick shotgun sometimes, but most of the time I'll have an assault rifle.

Maybe it's because I live in the south but I LOVE shotguns, especially the one from Bioshock.

Word. The shotgun is my go to weapon, and the one I upgrade first. My fall back is the crossbow, but I use the chemical thrower with the fuel consupmtion upgrade to electric gel Big Daddies. Did you know with the upgrade, you can take out a Big Daddy with just under one tank of electric gel on any difficulty level?

Agreed, except I'd use the Speaking Gun as an example of a kick ass pistol...too bad it'll never be in a game.

That's true and it was very satisfying to bounce the enemy up, into the air. Like a beach ball, before striking them down with one final slam with the sword. Ah good times.

dude you can do anything with a shot gun. it isn't limited to solely cover combat use like most machine guns, its great for blowing away zombies and the like, and you don't need to be a marksman in order to use it

i like pistols fo their look/style but they're usually weak
i like smg's simply cause they're usually the best allrounder
i like shotguns as running into someone and point blank shooting is awsome

As for the rocket lawn chair reference, I'm guessing that's from Arby n' the Chief.

For me, it's either invading my opponent's personal space with a melee weapon, or a mile away exploding their head with a sniper rifle. I find the middle ground uninteresting.

I believe it was called a Lancer in one of the games.
