Poll: Favorite TF2 class?

I think having Pyro/Demoman in one thing is going to really skew the vote, to be honest.

Pretty much this. You probably should have grouped two other classes together.

OT: I picked the Pyro/Demoman hybrid (in case that wasn't already obvious), specifically for the Pyro, in fact I really quite dislike the Demoman.

The problem is that the Escapist allows 8 poll options and there are 9 classes. There's really no need to win this thing...

OT: I usually do best as soldier or medic. I sometimes play as spy, but I suck. It's still fun though.

I would have put spy/sniper together as they both fill a very similar role - key target assassination.

Excellent point, they do share goal and to some degree tactic. I really didn't think of that.

I personally can't get enough of the Soldier. He's such an excellent class. He can play offensively with his default loadout, defensively with Beggar's Bazooka and Battalion's Backup, support with and launcher and any banner, Engi's worst nightmare with Direct hit and my personal favourite "In your face" loadout with Rocket Jumper and Shotgun and Market Gardener.

I also quite enjoy spy but I've been in a real slump lately getting maybe two backstabs per life. I need to play him some more and shake off some of the rust.

My favorite class in general is the Pyro hands down. My favorite class to use, however, is harder to decide because I changed my favorite class at least three or four times and it's been way too long since the last time I played TF2.

It would probably be either Pyro or Engineer.

Pyro because I like to set things on fire and occasionally split their head open with my axinguisher. Plus I enjoy spy checking for my engie buddies.

Engineer because I enjoy watching my sentry wipe out a large wave of unwitting victims.

Engineer is the class I've logged the most time with, and the one I like to play the most. He was my favorite back in Team Fortress Classic. And, I do enjoy building dem constructs and such. Plus, the Widowmaker is OP as hell. (if you can aim, it really is)

However, Scout and Spy are very, VERY close seconds. Incredibly close. Namely because Scout harkens back to the good old Quake days, and Spy fits my occasional desire to be deceptive and sneaky.

I like Heavy and Pyro, but favourite is Engineer. Slap down a sentry gun in an unexpected or critical location, upgrade it to plus three, then focus on getting a teleport into the enemy's base. If I'm feeling confident, I bring the sentry through with me and make the transgression official. Unfortunately, there's no way to tell allies where the tp goes except teamchat. And besides...

Why would you lump the only class worth playing as in with the demoman? Playing as pyro and having idiots think W+M1 is some form of cheating makes for the only times I have ever enjoyed that game.
Seriously, why does it look reasonably bad but still need a supercomputer to be able to run it decently? My laptop runs MW3 better.

My first class, and the one I have played the most is Medic. It just clicked for me.
Sadly, I don't play Medic as much as I used to anymore.

But when it comes down to favorite class... Probably Pyro. Taken a recent liking to Engineer, though. Especially combat engineer.

You can switch out the pistol for the Wrangler too if you want to piss of snipers and soldiers that think they're a match for your mini. Gotta school those types hard.

I love the engi and spy, both are very unorthodox fps classes. The spy for the sheer number of tools and mind games you can play. However the engi takes the number 1 spot because they are very defensive support specialists. With the versatility engis bring as far as healing and ammo and mediocre damage to teleporting and area of denial sentries. <3 Defense specialists

My favorite class is, as the avatar no doubt suggests, the all-burninating Pyro. I know more than a few people look down on it, but it is both incredibly fun to play as well as right funny when people start panicking because you showed up from some weird place that no one was paying attention to. Also, I have a bizarre fondness for using the Postal Pummeler above and beyond even the Axtinguisher, possibly because the Pummeler is such a ludicrously silly melee weapon, pretty much on a Saints Row 2 or Postal level, that it's brilliant.

It really depends on what mood I'm in. But my most played is Pyro, followed by Demoman; fitting as they're both grouped together.
I've been maining Engi, Demo and Soldier recently. Sniper comes in after that.

I love playing as the Sniper and just feeling super sneaky, and might also get a kick for being annoying, when I've got my huntsman and just firing arrows off before I land that headshot!

Though if I keep getting killed a bunch of times, I get annoyed and turn into the Pyro to just go burn the other team to the ground. All's fair in love and war. =3

The Heavy, even though he's not the hardest class to play as. It's great playing as him because whenever I'm in a game, I'm the only Heavy who uses the Brass Beast - so I mow down any other fuckin Heavy.

But the class I'm probably the best at is the Medic.

My fav is the Engineer, but I have clocked up more than twice the amount if time (60 hours) with the soldier, as it is usually the most needed class in a match since every one wants to be a sniper.

Half a dozen matches, that is like judging the lord of the rings books by the first 3 pages . It has got to be the most addictive FPS game I ever played. Suppose I am bias though after playing the Half-Life Team Fortress for years too though, was not aware of the quake one when it was out, shame I missed it.

I picked Spy, but really it is a breakdown for me:

Spy vs inexperienced players: My. God. You will rack up kills faster then you can believe, and on a good day, watching the enemy team beat one another to death while you come up behind them.....joy.

Sniper vs team with bad or no spys: Just rack up head shots in relative safety. Dodge bazooka shots.

Demo vs ENGINEERS EVERYWHERE: The team with 8 turrets turtled around the final cap? RAIN FIRE UPON THEE.

Heavy vs MY TEAM WHY WON'T YOU PLAY HEAVY????

Medic vs MY TEAM WHY WON'T YOU PLAY MEDIC????

Soldier for fun.

Pyro when the enemy team angers me and they must burn.

Engineer is probably my favorite class, I love to run the mini and go on the offense, especially on payload.

And I don't like scouts. Sorry.
