I'll be picking up FEAR 3 as I really enjoyed the other games in the series and I want to know what happens next. Not sure how they will top how the second game ended mind you that was some pretty shocking stuff right there.

Eh... none of those.

Also Dead Island isn't an FPS it's a third person hack and slash RPG, but no I'm not getting that either...

To be honest I haven't bought any games in a while, for some reason none of them have really got me interested like usual. That's all going to change when Mass Effect 3, Skyrim and The Old Republic all come out though.
I am pretty sure it is in First Person. It is a First-Person-Brawler.

OT: Yeah, I am getting Dead Island. Been looking forward to it for quite some time.

Battlefield 3 for sure. I've convinced all my friends to skip cod this year and buy Battlefield 3 with me. Success
Unless its a money thing I don't see why people can't just buy them both I thoroughly enjoy Battlefield but that doesn't mean I can't also enjoy COD.

If you just meant it as a money thing and weren't trying to rag on cod then fair enough.
It's a money thing with them, me not so much. I only really play first person shooters with my friends, so if they're only getting the one, then that's the one I'll be buying. I have oth Black ops and Bad Company 2. Liked BC2 more but playing it alone got tiresome.
To be honest I never really play FPS online on my own any more I much prefer all of them when I'm playing with my mates that said teamwork is definitely a higher priority in battlefield tan COD.

I already own Brink and Bulletstorm, Duke Nukem Forever and Rage on preorder, also. FEAR 3, eventually, maybe preorder it also (gotta love D2D coupon codes), or wait since it does come out a week after DNF. If I get the new job, probably just gonna preorder for the hell of it. Dead Island seems interesting, but I'll have to wait and see more about it.

Battlefield 3, on the other hand, I'll probably pass on. Couldn't really get into the old BF games, didn't care for BF:BC2, and it will probably be another overrated generic shooter. Still need to find a really good online multiplayer shooter, though. :/

And, figures... a thread about FPS games and the "OMGZ! SKYRIM!!!11" people invade it anyway. Honestly, with how boring Oblivion is, I'm not even going to consider trying that game...

Probably Brink, because my brother wants to also get it. None of the other games look THAT great. I currently own BFBC3, which is still really fun, and I don't really see any reason to get another new FPS just like it or worse than it.

Well, I have Brink (and love it, screw the rest of ya), I played Bulletstorm (probably will buy that when cheaper), so either Duke Nukem or Battlefield 3. Probably going with Duke though, as thats a game I want to own, just to say I own it, regardless of whether or not its any good.

*Edit*

One word: Skyrim.
One word: YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
OP should have made an other option.
Let me help, oh and yes Skyrim should definitely be an option especially since my first year in college it is coming out.
Skyrim isn't a fps
Technically, no. But it should be on the list regardless. Also, I noticed there is no Deus Ex: Human Revolution.

None of those - I'm going to wait for Crysis2 to come on special and get that.

Other than that, no FPS plans on the near horizon.

Umm... pretty sure teh question was about FPS games, not RPGs.

Skyrim does look fun, and I'll probably get it, but it's no FPS.

I already own Bulletstorm
I'm definitely getting DNF
I may get Battlefield 3. I'm not really into Military shooters but I'll be damned if this doesn't look like the probable exception.

EDIT: Also, Rage. Definitely Rage.

I'm drifting away from FPS's, they are much too... well too bland.
I don't follow the mainstream curve all to much, no one influences me to buy games.
I wasn't going to buy portal until my boyfriend got it, that is the only time i have budged.

Skyrim isn't a fps
Yeah... what?
I'm into first person games, not the shooting kinds though.
Like amnesia. So I would say yes to Skyrim.

And maybe Battlefield 3, though I'm kinda sick of military shooters.
That would be my feeling. BF3 looks great and most people I know are getting it but I would really rather not go through another realistic shooter. Maybe I'll just brush up on some old games I never bothered to try.

Honestly, out of those choices, I'm fully looking forward to Battlefield 3

A friend of mine showed me Battlefield Bad Company 2, and i dropped out of my Black Ops haze and into the world of precision fps games. I thank that friend for that. for i can no longer play black ops anymore.

Brink is a good game, i have bought, and played it. It's fairly intuitive, along with having a very usable movement system for clean movement over obstacles using different parkour moves. The missions are objective based, and honestly very fun to play in. along with the challenges, and full customization of characters...It leads to some fun gaming.
