You and I don't seem to have played the same game.
In the game I played, fighting Kratos is not only completely out of the question, but could very easily be considered a valid suicide method. Kratos is sociopathic, quite possibly phsychopathic, and jaded to the point he bleeds green. Not to mention he literally kills everything in sight.
Lasting thirty minutes is against him is impossible, be you god, titan, or hero. Lasting thirty seconds is practically unheard of. Only fools and...well, no, just fools, would dare face this man.
Obviously, in the game you played, Kratos is a far less compitent warrior; what's more, he's a man who listens to reason, or to anything at all. The game you played may have involved Kratos sitting down with Zeus and telling him (in no uncertain terms) how little he apreciated being used as a cosmic plaything. And they hugged. and cried.
This Kratos, you could perhaps barter with. And survive against. Maybe he'd cry for the entire thirty minutes.
There is the distinct possiblilty you played the game poorly.
'pologies.
