Guess what I just watched...

I was just watching the NEW trailer for Friday the 13th. A joint project between the director of the remake of Texas Chainsaw Massacre and Mr. Explosions, himself, Michael Bay. If there was ever an odd match up, it's that one. Knowing Bay, i'm sure this itteration of 13th will be chock full of explosions, bad acting, and even worse casting.

Anyways, my first impressions for this movie weren't too bad. I mean, it's looking like its gonna be a classic slasher flick with all that slasher goodness.

Jason is lookin pretty awesome like he always has. If there is any cool looking slasher, it's Jason. Not only that, but it looks like Jason has been running on the treadmill a bit because he sure is a lot faster than he has been in the past.

Let's think for a moment here...

Freaking awesome looking slasher + A Machette + Agility x Plenty of stupid teenagers for the killing = AWESOME

It's about time we got another slasher flick in the sea of crappy Eli Roth Saw films and PG13 horror movies. Whomever thought a PG13 horror movie could be good AND scary must have been on peyote.

Honestly, I doubt this new Friday the 13th movie will be any good. I did give it a lot of praise in this post, but that's just to mask the fact that it's a movie that is out of its time period. The slasher flick has come and gone. They were great in the 1980s, but this is 2008 (soon to be 2009). I dunno if Jason belongs in this era.

Enough of my rambling, what do you guys and gals think will be the fate of this movie?

I think The Hills Have Eyes, they are great films.

I think it will do slightly better the the Halloween remake, as I will go and see it.

Oh, I love this. Everyone's singing John Carpenter's praises (mostly). But I love The Thing in the way he did it. For its time, it was just freaking awesome. Dunno if either a new movie or a remake would work out or help, but I'd like to see them try. (Okay, game wasn't bad, but you know what I mean.)

They just need to make some new horror films. I loved nightmare on elm street and the friday the 13th movies when I was younger but they do not need to be re-imagined. just watch the origionals and enjoy them for what they are.

Here's an idea for a new horror film(tm) Theres a killer (has some kind of psychological impairment)add in a bunch of victims some likeable some not (at least 3 must be nubile topless teen girls). lots get killed. one survives and kills the killer (or do they?)

None. Let's see something ORIGINAL please. Or at least someone could TRY to create something whilst NOT watching/reading something else for "inspiration".

No more remakes or sequals please, they have done all those topics to death! I want a great original horrer like The Shining again, did they ever make a sequal to that?

^^ No, but they did a made for TV, 3x90 minute film-series WITHOUT Jack Nicholson, that (IMO) was ten times better than the Hollywood version.

It goes into the kid's powers a LOT more rather than just lightly touching it in the JN version.

Hellraiser should re-made. oh wait, it already is, along with about 6 other classic horror films that are going to be released in 2009/10

I'd say The Thing. But I think the reason it's good is cuz they didn't bleed it to death.

So I vote Zombies
Yup. Worst thing you can do with zombies is make another bad film. I don't want them screwing over a classic.

Is it just me or is Friday the 13th missing from the poll :p? Anyways, I'd vote for Friday the 13th, but this time make sure it has a like $10,000 budget (no more of this Jason X crap, we want CHEESE!).

I don't like horror movies. They just don't do it for me. The only film to actually freak me out a good bit was AVP:R, but that was only because of the disturbing things they had the Xenomorphs doing to the humans.

Jaws, except this time he can go on land, and has figured out how to use guns. I don't want the movie to be about people running away from Jaws then eventually figuring out how to kill it, I just want the whole movie to be about Jaws shooting and eating innocent people. That would be awesome.

I dont know, from the previews I have seen it looks to be a desent enough flick, they would have done better releasing it in the fall around october though.

Probably the one movie I would like to see get made is "The Thing". but not necessarily re-made. I think it would be interesting to see what happens after the movie ends, maybe when a rescue party goes in. But then agian, maybe not.
